Yes, jl-c has it right. The purpose of this is to control, in my case, modified mufflers that will have bypasses with valves. Basically they will be gundo-hacked mufflers but there will be a valve where the bypass pipe is so I can have it loud or quiet whenever I choose. The car also has a center muffler bypass from Top Gear.
I like the loud exhaust when I’m rowing through the gears or decelerating but when on a long highway trip I like it quiet since the road noise from the tires is already quite loud.
Here is a video testing the valves to make sure they function properly before being welded in.
Just to confuse things a little on the switches and their illumination , a quote from Porsche!
Also, I do wonder if the factory PSE is closed around 3000/3500 RPM or so to cover the Carrera stutter that is not too noticable on standard exhaust but gets definately more so when using a 'sports' exhaust which I assume is providing less back pressure? _________________ Porsche Carrera 2S 2005 black fully Hartech'd!, BMW Z4 coupé 2007 blue, Mazda Eunos 1996 yellow, VW Passat 2014 black.
