964 Project - Plan B

Hi Paul,

Nice report. I had concerns about keys and barrels, I have the two original keys, one not used and one worn almost to nothing. I fitted the remote central locking thing from Tore B, works a treat and easy to fit.

Hi Kieth,

I have a hole in one heat exchanger. might be looking for replacement soon.

Cheers
Steve

Thanks Steve! Sounds like a good thing, I'll take a look, although there's something nice and old-school about putting the key in the lock

Glad to be of service guys! :floor:

Cheers,
Paul

Hi Chaps,

A few photos from PCGB Region 3 Concours at Witton Castle in August taken by the talented chaps at Tell Tale Tim/Tell Tale Torque who specialise in auto, auto sport photography and videos. As you can see they are b!oody good at it too! So I thought i may as well share them since they are the first professional photos I've had of the car. A big thanks to Dave and James :worship:

I'm not sure where the POR 964 plate appeared from, James?

Over 260 Porsche turned out for what was another great day organised by Greg & Deb Harm and all the usual helpers. Thank you.

And a huge thanks to everyone who turned up :thumb:

Cheers,
Paul

Great photos, the car is looking amazing!

Very well done Paul, and it was very nice to see you there. Awesome images!

Nice one Paul car is looking as good as ever :thumb:

outstandingly good photos Paul :thumb:

Thank you kindly Chaps, I love you all :worship:

Sadly I confess, I didn't take the photos (just as well really) its the brilliant work of Tell Tale Tim as you can see. Although I did improve one or two of them, by being in them :floor:

Cheers,
Paul

Hi All,

I hope you're all keeping well and stay that way!

I know you're all looking for little jobs to do on your 964's otherwise you'll have to start on the decorating which you've been promising your other 'arfs, so here's a couple of suggestions

I've fitted a couple of Rennline products yesterday, the phone mount and a GoPro mount. All self explanatory really but here's a few photos anyway.

If anyone is interested the phone mount is basically a circlip design. Using a flat headed screw driver with masking, or insulating tape over the tip to protect the clock as you ease it out of position, you don't need take it right out. 5 - 10mm is enough to slip the mount over before you tighten it up the hidden bolt using an allen key and push the clock back into position.

The kit comes with a wafer slim metal plate which you slide inside your phone cover to help the adjustable magnetic mount. Total 5 minutes to fit from start to finish but I'm sure you could string it out for an hour

The piece itself is of superb quality mat black anodised aluminium with a rubberised mount to keep your phone scratch free.

The GoPro mount is a simple affair which is a bracket which fits under the sun visor mount, as per the photos. 10 minutes to fit this one but put it down as an hour on your job sheet

I should add that the GoPro bolt itself (top) doesn't come with the kit

That's it I'm afraid, I have some more little jobs but I need a ramp so more on the later.

Stay safe!
Paul

Cheers Paul, they are very tasteful mods , i like the Heuer clock face you have, that is something i would like to copy if you wouldn't mind :) can i ask where you got it . My car is unfortunately away at the moment, i put it in for paint and other bits and pieces three weeks ago but obviously it will be in there some time yet .
Have to say again those photos above are excellent , good health all :thumb:

Nice additions! :thumb:

You can also install the phone mount 'back to front', which may be better for your line of sight and also closer to the cigarette lighter socket/charge point:

Hi Ch3tman,

Doh! Why didn't i think of that :wack:

Thanks for that, looks like the decorating will never get done :thumb:

Hi Keith,

Sorry, I missed your post earlier. Hope you're keeping well?

The answer to your question about the Heuer clock face can be found at the bottom of page 1 of this blog here

http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=82941&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

But the chap who made it doesn't seem to be around anymore. I think the problem was that when I originally put it in the blog years ago he had a lot of enquiries from both here and USA (via another site) and I think it all became too much for him but you could try.
Carbone and it looks exactly like my Monte-Carlo.

https://car-bone.pl/shop/heuer-964-993-clock/

Not cheap but neither was my clock face as it's not just one of the stick on ones. Carbone are offering 10% at the mo with coupon code: STAYATHOME

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,
Paul

Hi all,

I'm liking that phone mount, had pondered it before but was a bit wary of having at the RHS - didn't think about mounting it at the LHS :worship:

Where is the best place to order these, direct?

Thank you

Steve
