PDK oil leaks

The PDK is a sealed unit and as such can only be replaced by another sealed unit circa £7.5k from Porsche. There are currently companies looking at finding a work around by cutting the unit in half and installing bolts so it can be maintained.

Very interesting. What a ridiculous design idea!! It seems its a ZF and not a merc box sadly.
But Im still sure I could cure that leak from that part.

As these cars get older this will definitely become an issue not having a serviceable gearbox. There are simple seals that if fail will require an entire new gearbox unless a way can be found to make it serviceable. Fortunately there is someone on the case!

I was checking a site the other day for parts for a transfer box .. they also do parts for the pdk .. very few though .. other than the odd seal then there is nothing available.

Considering this is a specialist site for gearbox components then it kinda tells the story that these are not a repairable unit atm .

I for one would like to get more involved and offer a solution .. but if we cant buy parts then there's nothing we can do im afraid .
