Hello All.
I have a real dilemma about what to do and so throw this out to the masses to ask for your thoughts. I am an engineer by trade, used to love building classic Landrover's from scratch and now want a different type of project. I considered kit cars (ultimate GTR), body kits on boxters, classic hot rod rebuilds, classic sports car rebuilds, but have always wanted to do a Porsche. What I can't work out is this:
1. What do I buy as the base car. (£1-20k) and
2. What do I need to do to get a car which is a sub (or close to) 3s machine.
I want to ask you all about what's good, bad, ugly, a servicing nightmare, whether you spend more on the initial car (up to £50k) and tune it was not or lass on the base car and rebuild most things.
Ultimately, I really want a smart machine so if it's an older variant will have the interior re-upholstered and the tech updated. New paint (probably). More power etc etc.
Has anyone had these discussions and I would be really keen to hear your thoughts.
Take it easy and have a good eve!
