Naive question maybe, but what does this actually involve?
I've always thought my rears looked fine but the fronts could do with sitting a bit wider. Bought some spacers but wasn't comfortable with the amount of stud in the nut so took them off again.

Slip on spacers are ok up to 5 or 7 mm depending on who's saying. There is enough stud length. Above that you need to use bolt on spacers, but the stud length on the car will need to be reduced on any spacers below 20-25mm as the stud on the car will hit the back of the wheel. So it's a bit of a catch 22 situation in what you can do.
