996 early C2 - Ownership/project thread (cobalt blue)

Panamera wheels back on. Found another set in the US but going to be too much to buy and import here. I'll bide my time and see if they release them here.

Had a little misshap when drilling the alloy bolts out the bbs style wheels, beer and drills don't mix  so sold them on for track spares. Luckily didn't loose any money on them.

Another set on the way to replace them though

Hopefully get them later in the week, nothing exciting but a style Ive not tried yet. My front splitter detached so Im back to the little chin spoiler. Some slight knocking from front end so maybe have to look into suspension refresh soon.

what do you think of the RS mounts?

really sorted out my old 996 and current 997. engine feels more hooked up and gets the power down better.

The car does feel better yes but not a massive improvement, I don't think the ones I took off were that old mind you so it was more of an incremental gain.
Rear end definitely feels more planted and gear change is improved for sure, just not a large improvement as others have reported before.

Pic of the fleet. Had to do some repairs at the holiday let so took this. Basically an hour of fast B roads up over Lecht and sun shining.

Had a full set of linen, set of tools and hoover but room to spare. More I drive this more I realise how they are such a bargin!! What a car!!!

Nice to see an update Graham.

Bike rack is cool. I fancy one for mine if I get back into cycling as much as I hope to. Pretty pointless on my part because I have my old Volvo estate that the bike travels inside hence says dry and secure.
Would be nice to drive the Porsche to cycling events though. 8)

Just for my mountain bike. Saw someone selling the full kit locally so had to have it.
Won't leave it on but at least it means I can use it for weekends away if we're going biking. Have a cool wee deflector to fit as well.

Bike rack works well. Ive left it on for a few weeks now. Uber handy with the bikes.
Sold my Audi and got a cheaper Golf Edition30 as a daily. Was going to get a derv beater but the Golf is proving fairly frugal as well so might just use that. However Id like to take the 911 off the road over this winter and go through the underneath, replacing coffin arms, tuning forks, powdercoating brackets, getting aircon pump swaped out and maybe a new suspension set up. Need to cost all that up first mind you as still on limited budget and don't want to rely solely on the Golf for the moment.

Saw those Spyder performance arms etc but not sure I want polybushed.

Oh and this happened today so now officially worthless anyway,

I picked up some roof bars and bike racks and bike from a user here as well, haven't fitted them yet, but there's something about seeing a 911 used for utility purposes which makes me smile.

I had a golf which I hit 111,111 km with on 11/11/2011. Should have taken a photo of that!

Does look very cool with a bike on the top. (Need a good spec MTB to pull it off though. Won't do to have a "Carrera"up there!)

Wheels fill the arches nicely too. What springs are you running at the moment?
