Guys I'm looking to sell my '09' plate 911 997 Gen2 4S in white, 57k, great condition, how much should I be asking?
I was offered 34k trade in by Porsche but feel this is quite low as I paid a lot more 9mths ago...
Thanks in advance

You should maybe give Tom Price at 911 Virgin a call. He'll give you a fair price for the car. Sounds v.nice. Retail is £39,995 so the offer made isn't a bad one.

Market is slow and discounts can probably be had, but I would have thought the sticker price at an established specialist or an OPC would be £42-44k depending on spec. Contacting 911v is a good call, you'll get a fair perspective on your options.

If Porsche offered you £34k they probably see it as £39k-£41k retail. If you're looking to part-ex then you should do a bit better at a specialist.

If you're looking for a straight sale I fear £35k would be about the best that they'd offer you. A private ad at £38,995 might net you more.

I'd say £38-40k as a private sale.

Portiacraft do seem to be good value prices, especially for London, no personal experience but friends who have been customers say they don't discount. RSJ have a few 997 C4S Coupe PDKs, one of them is a 2009, 55k miles (black rather than white) up for £44k. Bought from them ages ago, they didn't negotiate on the price either

The offer you were given seems a bit low to me, but maybe the prices have lowered a bit, in the last 6 months or maybe retrospective to the deal you are doing.

In March I traded my manual 997.2 C4 in a nice spec & manual so quite rare on 45K miles spec for £37000 main dealer Porsche,

They have just sold it to someone for circa£42k with OPC warranty which I think is fair enough given they will detail it beforehand & give the cherished warranty.

They didn't have to do much as it had had everything done by me beforehand, lots of maintenance coolant hoses, steering rack, belts, filters plugs, brake fluid, service, etc etc but still fair I think based on the deal I got on my trade / next one.

So I'm thinking £34k for a 4S which is a potentially better variant (subject to condition) is a really good price for them a buyer :?:

Depends what you want or have in your car I suppose.

As a buyer last year...spec is key.

PDK or manual?

What options does it have?

Which wheels?

Etc.

Spec

Turbo Wheels, Sports Seats, PDK, Sports Exhaust, Sports Chrono, park assist, it does have a lot of options and has not a single scratch, dint or mark on body. So I feel 36k would be a fair price for sale only trade in...

About a month ago I sold my black 2009 997.2 C4S PDK with 68k miles to a garage for £35k. I see they still have it for sale at £38k.

As far as I can see prices have softened in the last months..

They definitely have softened. I've been considering selling my 997.2 C2s for a while so have been monitoring prices. It think it coincides with the release of the 992. A year ago I'd have been hopeful of getting 40k for mine now, now I'd be lucky to get £35k I think.

Values have softened across the board - and not just Porsche. Other than the timing being somewhat coincidental it's nothing to do with the release of the 992.

That car should be retailing between £42-45k depending on who's selling it OPCs would be £45k ish.

Sounds lovely and the 997.2s really are the sweet spot. The value should be safe at that money too.

I doubt it with 57k miles showing.
