No love for the 997 Turbo wheels then, I like them?

I didn't like mine when they were diamond cut...better now in anthracite.

Plus they are one of the few Porsche wheels to be forged

They do look better like that, not a fan of the turbo wheels in standard form.

I love the new 'spider' wheels available on the the 992. Would look great on the 997. Closest I'd have to settle for are the BBS-CHRs :(

Nope, not keen on gen1 turbo wheels at all and think gen2 turbo wheels are alright, but I wouldn't want them personally.

I think the gts wheels are about the best oem wheel I can think of.

Ruger mesh are nice on the right car too.

It's all subjective anyway, as one man's poison...

Looking good , what spacers / springs are you on there ?

It's got the factory sports chassis kit, which is m030 and therefore -20mm ride height. Personally I'd like another -10mm lower at least.

Spacer wise - I think (i forget now) its got 5 or 6mm at the front and 12 or 13mm at the rear. Definitely the regular 7 and 14mm combo was too much and the tyres stuck out from the arches and looked stupid. It may have been due to the rim savers built into the Bridgestone tyres though.

Lobster Claws; Here's mine...

I've thought about getting my Lobster Claws done in Black and Anthracite (my cars Basalt Black) .....can you please upload a photo on the complete car ...cheers

Not been on here for a couple of weeks and first thing I see is a wheels thread

I agree much as they might look like lobster forks it is a US term and in the UK we call them lobster claws. but whatever you call them I don't really like them but everyone has differing taste.

re your mate who said there were knobs on here, he probably hasn't been on for a while and like every forum 911uk does get its share of trolls and those who seem angry with the world but they don't stay long usually, and this forum is not as cliquey as many and not so many idiots as forums like piston heads etc. If he means I am a knob then please commend his for his astute observations :floor: :floor: but its no reason not to stay lol .

Carrera Monkey good to see you posting on here again Matt :thumb: and yes I like the BBS motorsports as well.

Personally I went with Vertini magic concave in Anthersite.

Crikey this thread is like a Rocky horror show of wheels :floor: Clearly bigger is better and there's only one wheel that should be allowed on a 997

Ok I know I Know Herman yellow is making them look even better as do the Ceramics  but even on a normal 911 the Carrera S 20" look amazing.

Lovely wheel indeed but imo they suit the smaller body 981 better & once you go dark the style & definition is hard to appreciate too

I really like these wheels. BUT....

Have heard very mixed reports about them on a 997 (ride and handling, fouling on arches etc)...to the point where I haven't risked it.

I'd like these or a GT3 wheel on mine, in weiss gold. But don't want to jeopardise the ride/handling side. And don't dislike the Turbos I have on mine enough (especially as they're dirty more often than not so look "anthracite" :)).

Fresh back from a colour change!

Always love a wheels thread as I think it's one of the easiest ways to change the look of your car and make it personal to you and totally reversible in minutes.

I am another one who doesn't like the gen 1 turbo wheel and have had two 997's both which I have had the sports design wheels, as I think they look the best. I do also like the Carrera classics as i think they just suit the car and sit really well especially on a wide body., the lobster claw for me are ok.

In the end though I went totally off standard wheel and colour but when I get board of them I will swap the back for the sports design wheels my car came with.

Thefinn. Love the top picture. The colour really suits the blue of the car and the stance of a 4s.

Lovely car :thumb:
