Hi Folks

Picked up a lovely 2014 958 diesel from a trader last month and upon driving it hime I notcied an annoying whine. Rang the trader who told me to get it into a specialist for daignosis which I've just done and it would appear to need a new front diff when they had the stethoscope on it ! Calling the trader tomorrow to get it sorted but just curious if anyone else had had issues and what sort of cost this would be ? The cars only done 68000 miles !

Thanks
Nat

Sorry i missed this ..

front diff can wear out if incorrect tyres have been fitted on that axle .. ie an N rated on one side but not the other .

It can also be a wheel bearing which has gone and it sounds very similar to it being the diff ..

Lets just say it's easy to get caught out and change the wrong part .. i've seen it done :(

Thanks mate. The car went into a specialist and they had a stethoscope on it as they suspected wheel bearing too but you could hear it was the diff. Dealer I bought it of have been helpful and booked it into a specialist transmission place Tuesday
