Options don''t match what''s on my car...

Hi all, was a bit bored yesterday evening while some drivel was on the TV and decided to have a quick check of my option codes...which is where it's got confusing!

Based on the sticker in my original service book it says I have the following options;

17mm rear spacers - XRN
Seat Heating - 342
Park Assistant - 635
Carbon instrument surround - XPY
Porsche Techno 18" wheels - XRC

(Codes from stuttcars website)

Of which I have errr none.

All the other options the car has aren't listed other than wheel centre caps and the 6-CD changer!

Is the only way to check by going to the OPC? I'm a bit worried now and it'll only bug me until I get to the bottom of it!

Anyone else have this discrepancy or are the code descriptions on Stuttcars not 'accurate"?

My car has hardback sports seats and the PSE, but I fitted those myself. Changes get made over the years, perhaps just fiddled with?

1st thing I'd do is check the correlation between what's in your book and what's on your bonnet sticker. If they don't match I's be checking the VIN, etc.

I get people adding bits and changing wheels for sure, but why 'remove" park assist for example? Or heated seats? It would seem more hassle than it's worth!

The car was fully HPI'd and also had a Porsche specialist inspection (borescope check, IMS etc) and was all clear. As such, I didn't run the options against the stickers.

Alex - both stickers match in book and under bonnet.

Think I'll ring my friendly OPC tomorrow 😂

Fingers crossed it's not a ringer

I suspect the code list you are using is wrong. As you say why go to the trouble of removing park assist, seat heating. I can at a stretch envisage sport techno wheels and carbon bits being removed and flogged.

Your codes are correct to the list I have :thumb:

Wheels and spacers, easily changed to taste ?
Rear Park assist, some people hate the look of the sensors on the bumper ?
Seats may have been changed for a different style to say comforts or hardbacks ?
Carbon instrument surround, no idea why someone would change that unless they did`t like the carbon fibre look :?:

If the seats were changed, few people would remove the switches, fewer still the wiring. My car currently has non-heated seats, but the switches are still there. I can't believe anybody would remove parking sensors. Again, the wiring would be there.

Hopefully it'll turn out to be a ford probe so I'll not have to worry about bore score.

So I've spoke to Notts OPC and they've run the VIN.

It seems the only change from original spec is it has the lighter Carerra 18" 5 spokes (spec says it should be on 17" wheels). Everything else it has is listed. Phew.

It's also showing it as having M030 from the factory which i didn't know. Ironic as I've just gone down that option with a fresh new M030 kit. It would appear someone thought it was too firm and swapped it out possibly.

Still doesn't explain the wrong options sticker in the book though... OPC have suggested a few places to have one reprinted to match. Just seems odd!

Does the vin on the sticker and book match the vin on the car?

Cut and shut.....

:floor:

I'm confused... the sticker in the book matches the car, you said in an earlier post.

So, the options codes on the stickers are presumably wrong, or the options decoder lists are wrong. :?

:? Hope it all turns out right OP

Something ain't quite right here - do the option stickers on the car and in the handbook both tally up?

Do an Mot lookup check and make sure the mileage and service records kind of tally up closely enough. Check ViN on MoT records with the one on your dashboard and on your V5
