I know its a distinct/traditional Porsche look, but I'm not convinced it lends itself to the 996
For my money I'd keep it uniform "factory" silver, maybe a darker contrasted centre... an alternative might be the darker, more chrome "AMG silver"...... _________________ 1998 Carrera - Black, no sunroof, manual, cable throttle, IPD plenum, 200 cell x pipe, cargraphic backboxes, Ohlins R&T, LSD, polybushed, Girodisc brakes, custom ("shaved") GT3 RS decklid, 997 sports seats, litronic headlights, RUF wing mirrors, Hartech rebuild, >245,000 miles

I’d be a big fan of gold. Saw these on eBay and it’s just the way I’m going to go with my own _________________ #modified996mk1

Yeah. Picked them up needing a refurb but they sit perfectly on the car with no spacers. Don't really want to spend much cash on them so just thinking DIY refurb. _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

Annual rad clean out. Just goes to show how good the mesh and shroud drain holes have worked. _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

Looks like a good result. The mesh really has done its job. Encouraging as I’ve just added mesh grills too. _________________ 1998 Artic Silver 996.1 - manual - carbon interior - Momo Protopito

That’s what you want to see.
My new one has the black Zunsport grills fitted. You can’t really see them which is a plus, but I’m hoping they’ve done a similar job to yours. I’ll be having a bumper off inspection in due course.

That's using all year round as well so when the leaves are on the ground.
I drilled some holes at the back lower section of the shrouds to help wash out the water and dirt when you power wash in there which seems to help as well. _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

Panamera wheels back on. Found another set in the US but going to be too much to buy and import here. I'll bide my time and see if they release them here. _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

Had a little misshap when drilling the alloy bolts out the bbs style wheels, beer and drills don't mix so sold them on for track spares. Luckily didn't loose any money on them.
Another set on the way to replace them though
Hopefully get them later in the week, nothing exciting but a style Ive not tried yet. My front splitter detached so Im back to the little chin spoiler. Some slight knocking from front end so maybe have to look into suspension refresh soon. _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

The car does feel better yes but not a massive improvement, I don't think the ones I took off were that old mind you so it was more of an incremental gain.
Rear end definitely feels more planted and gear change is improved for sure, just not a large improvement as others have reported before. _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

Pic of the fleet. Had to do some repairs at the holiday let so took this. Basically an hour of fast B roads up over Lecht and sun shining.
Had a full set of linen, set of tools and hoover but room to spare. More I drive this more I realise how they are such a bargin!! What a car!!! _________________ 1999 C2 Coupe - http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=124107

Nice to see an update Graham.
Bike rack is cool. I fancy one for mine if I get back into cycling as much as I hope to. Pretty pointless on my part because I have my old Volvo estate that the bike travels inside hence says dry and secure.
Would be nice to drive the Porsche to cycling events though.
