I've just freshly painted my callipers, thought I'd stick up some new pictures.

I'm pleased with them.

Darren.

Looks like a top job you've done there. I've get yellow calipers on my c4s too and love the colour contrast.

Trouble is people now think im trying to make it look like it's on ceramics when really I just like the colour :D

Nice

What paint did you use and do you have any tips as I was thinking of painting my new calipers yellow.

Cheers
Winny

James thanks.

Winny no real tips as such, cleanliness is everything when painting anything. I've painted numerous cars over the years and more recently race helmets, it just takes patience.

These had just been refurbished in red so to start with I degreased them with solvent and then flattened them off with 600 grit wet and dry paper. I then painted them white with solvent base paint to block out the red. This was followed by the yellow solvent base. Following this I cut the decal from black final and applied in the correct place. A quick wipe with a tack rag followed to remove any dust and the clear coat was then added. I used a 2k clear coating.

The main tip is block out the red before changing colour.

Good as new!

Thanks

Darren.

Thanks I think I'll give it a go then. Thankfully my 944 calipers don't need a decal so should make it a bit easier

Cheers

Hi Darren

Lovely job. What paint did you use? I'm assuming high temp. Was the logo cut from a special heat resistant vinyl or just standard?

Thanks, I used solvent base coat with 2k clear over the top. The vinyl was just standard and stuck on top of the yellow prior to locking it down by clear coating over the top.

Hope it helps

Darren.
