I'm not a huge fan of the Carrera S script on the boot so just a subtle change from this

Well, it was last week but....

MOT, minor service, all pads and disks, dampers and wear sensors, 2 x stainless Dansk sports silencers, new front springs, top mounts bump stops and geo.

Early days for the silencers, but developing a good sound (old OEMs had gundo mod)
Noticeable improvement in tone / volume on part throttle openings.

Gundo was good, but rather muted below about 3k. No drone, which is just as well. The old units were shot - noticeable extra low-down torque once fitted.

Not sure why, but it seems folk aften comment on improvement in tone with a few miles on an exhaust, so will be interesting how / if tone develops further.

Bought most of the brake parts from Auto-doc, went with Brembo disks and pads (pads are stamped Textar). Finish on the "flange" (😁) or bell mounting is much better than the dull silver OEM, hope it'll stay looking smart.

Top work as usual by Joe & Chris @ Wrightune. :mechanic:

Some planned spending this month, also some unplanned.

Planned:

"” wheel refurb by The Wheel Specialist Nottingham: OE Silver - looks great but a couple of isolated defects where something has floated onto the lacquer whilst drying. Offered to re-do them. Lesson learned - don't collect car from a job like that in the pouring rain (doesn't make inspecting the wheels a very thorough job)

"” £15 ebay centre caps fitted to the refurbed wheels. The first crest had fallen out by the time I got home (30 miles) Glad I kept the OE ones. 2 others have followed suit - you get what pay for (might try clear laquer on them if there's a next time)

"” Gtechniq c1 wheel sealant applied (meant to make washing much easier - although my car is barely dirty between washes)

"” 997 GT3 brake cooling ducts fitted front and rear (£20 from OPC :thumb: )

"” Dot5.1 brake fluid (first time on track next week - Donington)

"” Full geo alignment (it was barely out so a little unnecessary)

"” Switched to Millers Nano 10w50 now I'm on 66k miles.

Unplanned expenditure: :nooo:

"” Front coffin arms replaced following shock MoT fail on one ball joint. (Unblemished MoT history now tainted)

"” Coil pack 2 replaced

"” Coolant topped up

"” Coolant expansion tank cap replaced

Weeping coolant pipe diagnosed (will be monitored)

Feeling a bit skint but it's great to have a healthy car again - I've been pretty miserable.

Next month the multicar Insurance is due - another grand :frustrated:

... and Road tax next month.

Service, brake fluid.

Now need front tyres, front disc and pads ....
