How much would you expect to get off a 991.1 on for 57k

Hi just curious I'm looking at a few cars 50-60k at specialist dealers and official Porsche.
How much would you expect to knock off the listed price ? Or get extra things included?

I don't want my enthusiasm to buy to mean I don't get a good deal!

Any help much appreciated!

price

How is it priced compared to others on the market with similar spec/mileage? Have you a trade in? How has it been valued? So many things come into the equation! I still cant tell you if this is a bargain or a rip off though!

It's been on their website for 2/3 weeks it's similar in price to others with same spec..
No trade in
Cash buyer
It has a couple of features that are love or hate...
I was just curious as to whether there is a generally accepted percentage. Or amount buyers normally try to get nocked off..
Eg if I say what's the best you can do and I will pay deposit and agree to buy today....

I've never paid the advertised price for a car. I always aim for about 5% off.

If it's only been available for 2/3 weeks, you may struggle for a discount but if you don't ask, you don't get.

From previous experience between 5-10%. Any less id just go elsewhere to a dealer that will discount. Id be finishing at the 2k off rather than starting there :thumb:
A someone has said so many variables, but theres always always a deal, don't let your heart rule your head.
One golden SBSP rule ive always used and its always worked. Generally because im genuinly always buying unseen when out of the country, and thats never talk to a delaer on the phone, always e-mail.
And the tact youve mentioned is king, im buying today and want to place a deposit, music to any used car salesmen's ears.

ie start at 5 k off, you cannot offend a UCS :floor:

Seems to me that the market is very, very slow at the moment. If you are a cash buyer, then you are in a strong position. Unless the car is something rare, and/or highly desirable, then don't let your enthusiasm deter you from a cheeky bid. If you don't try to haggle you'll kick yourself later............

I set myself a maximum based on my budget, if after lots of research it's the car you want, offer below your budget and work towards it to agree a deal

Like house buying your first bid should be just the right side of insulting :D

You'll never get 10% off a £57k 911 that's 6 years old, that will be their whole mark up!

I searched for over 6 months, dealers will not budge much, they all seem happy for the car to sit in stock.

It may already be priced fairly, what's the age and spec?

I was after a 991.1 C2S a few weeks ago with less than 20k miles. I could only find a few decent examples, one at Redline and the other with an OPC. Neither would budge much on the price and probably for good reason.

IMHO if the car is keenly priced (or at an OPC) you will struggle to get more than £500 off, regardless of your selling position, so it really depends on the starting price.

But please consider this a challenge and let us know how you get on with your negotiations!

The car sounds quite reasonably priced to begin with subject to spec, I would have thought at least £1000 less, try for a bit more subject the bargaining power in your deal. Some main dealer OPC will give a bit & maybe throw in a service.

There's a silver 991.1 at Chester OPC with warranty for £57K is it that one.

I'd echo the thoughts of those above saying you won't set much off.

Not a 991 but my recent search for aircooled or 996 GT3s had me offering £3k-£4K under and getting nowhere.

The car I bought was up for £60k and I offered £55k. They said no way.
It then dropped to £58k and I still only got another £1k off, paying £57k.

Before committing I offered a few other dealers the £57k/£58k on cars in the early £60ks and not one was at all interested.

If a car is decent and priced fairly to begin with then there's no way you'll get 10% off. No way at all.

I don't look at what I'm getting off. I look at whether it's good value and what are my other options if I pass on this one.

Good luck. :thumb:
