Long story short - popped into 9e for a boost leak check at the end of last year and ended up coming out with a full-on upgrade package. The visit was prompted by a dyno run at Litchfields that showed only 464BHP/470lbft despite having a remap and aftermarket exhaust (PO with another company). This was always my long term intention, it was just accelerated due to finding a 1" hole in one of the turbo casings (car has now done 85K miles). Essentially it's the 9e35 package with the addition of the DO88 intercoolers and full-on K24 rebuild (how they transformed two lumps of rust into pristine units is nothing short of amazing IMHO). The car was with Ken for ~1 month and the few occasions I have been able to take it out has really impressed me with it's performance - it really is a different car than what I took in. Anyway, I decided to bookend this activity with another dyno run this week (was bored and on holiday) which showed peak figures of 558BHP/547lbft. The work wasn't cheap but when you compare it to what my OPC quoted for just turbos and exhaust it's certainly good value and I was confident that I'd get a complete working system rather than just replacement of bits if that makes sense. Car is even more awesome now and for anyone considering going down this route as an improvement over regular maintenance I'd say GFI!!! Pics attached, comments welcome
