Centre Gravity - What can I expect ?

My mate went down to C of G from Aberdeen. Car was with them for 2 or 3 days. New everything. To say he was chuffed is an understatement!

Quite a big bill

Your response indicates unhappiness with your experience. Care to elaborate?

Not unhappy, the car felt great afterwards. They did a great job.

However, the equipment they use isn't special and is used elsewhere at a fraction of the cost.

It wasn't until I took my GTR for a service at a specialist garage, when I went to pick it up the chap just mentioned that he also checked and adjusted the alignment. That car was transformed too, drove arrow straight and I was well pleased, but it was all part of the service, so no eye watering bill.

If I wanted to get a track specific alignment done with some particular characteristics, then sure, I'll use CG, they certainly know their onions. But for normal road alignment where I just want it to drive straight and neutral, a normal setup by a competent person is more than adequate for my needs.

If you've had bad alignment elsewhere, he's worth the money.

I've recently changed the suspension, so I'm due a full alignment, if I can't get it right, I'll definitely go back.

But honestly, I had the same feeling driving that GTR away as I did when driving the Porsche after alignment, except one was £650 invoice, the other was a description in a line item. I just couldn't help wondering why I paid the £650. Maybe I'll find out and go back, then I'll know for sure if he was worth it. You've got to admit, it's pricey!

You pay your money and take your choice.

If you want it nearly perfect, there is plenty of choice. A lot of good places about.

If you want that extra bit, and the confidence in knowing its right, then C of G is the place to go.

Can't rate them high enough.

Top guys.

For me it's all about the attention to detail you get with CG and their understanding of all things Porsche as that is what they specialise in. I was there nearly two full days during which time my car was worked on the whole time, goodness knows what an OPC might charge to do the same work, if they were even able to!
