C2S at Ashgood. Anyone know it?

If you are seeking a 993 you may be aware long term owner, Mohitos, listed his car on this forum earlier. His spend on the car is frankly eye watering. You be seen that car in the metal. It's one of the best 993's I've ever seen. Totally mint, likely better than new. Right colour and spec as well, save the widely over valued, wide body premium.

I'd be PM ing him if I wanted a 993.

Hi Highway,

Ok thanks. I'm not actively seeking a 993, just anything interesting so 964, 993, 996 GT3 or Boxster Spyder. As long as they are manual and rear wheel drive.
Budget is £50k private, £60k max at a dealer as things are easier with specialist finance rather than standard bank loan, etc.

I've got a feeling Mohitos car will be more than £50k?
Plus if it's standard body wise they don't do much for me. Wide body or RS parts are a must for me. Daft maybe, but the standard jelly mould shape just doesn't float my boat. :nooo:

Thanks. :thumb:

Hi chaps, I just wondered if anyone knew this car. Bit leggy but it's not £100k.

It may well be gone by the time I visit next month but I think I'll call in anyway, as they've a few things that fit the bill usually. Air or water cooled.

Cheers. :thumb:

Looks like a decent car at a good price. All about the service history and a thorough inspection of the key areas. Also a realistic budget for remedial work in the first 12 months.

Best of luck with it

I dont know the car, so cant add anything constructive, however Ashgood do have a good reputation and as for the car..,

Widebody 993 goodness :cloud9:

Me too :bandit:

Yes it looks decent value and is obviously manual and RWD, both must haves for me.

Hopefully it may still be there in 2 weeks time when I go down.
The white Spyder there is perfect spec apart from it has the wrong seats so that's out.
I'm in no mad dash, as if I buy the wrong car it won't be easy to sell on in the current climate. I need to be absolutely sure when I decide.

Thanks.

 Illuminati founding member selling up :dont know:

Looks a nice car, cheap for a 2wd wide body. Ashgood are decent too (actual experiences).

I like blue although I have seen it referred to as a doom colour. I also like the grey interior - not as in have to have one but they do lighten up what is quite a small cabin. Sports seats are nice to have too.

The steering wheel would be on eBay if it were mine, and the stereo in the bin, and that front splitter with it. I'd also get Hercule Poirot to look it over.

If it is any help, I've owned a Spyder also and thought it was a great car. Purposely bought one without buckets as for me and my useage sports seats are better. Roof is fun on them, especially with it on and the rear section out. Handling superb, quirky looking. Not a 911 though, and let's face it proper 911s are air cooled.

Evenin' Zingers. :bye:

Hi Ty,

Yep there's nothing I'm really opposed to on it. I love that colour especially when detailed. Interiors look a bit nicer in black. Black feels a touch more sophistimocated, :puh:
I had grey in my 964T though and grew to quite like it. Nice and airy.

I've spent a good amount of time in Spyders. Two of my mates have owned both models. One of them just picked up this one last weekend.

I can't stretch to a 981 but would be happy with a 987.
Spyder wins hands down for this year as I've my euro tour in August. I can't let that 3 week trip decide what will hopefully be a forever car though.
I'd really love to do the trip in a Spyder though but seeing how long things are sticking around for at the moment, I wouldn't buy one with a view to changing again after my trip.

Air-cooled are my favourite to look at, listen to and drive at road speeds but the GT3s offer that bit more when in full on banzai mode.

I'll put together a list to view in a fortnight and see which one excites me the most.
I thought the above car might be known on here but if not, then a bit more careful inspection will be required.

I can't be doing with a project though, so whilst I expect to spend a bit more after initial purchase I don't want a wallet hoover.

Spyder is best on that front. Newest out of all my options and I can even get Porsche warranty if I want.

Anyway thanks for your thoughts. :thumb:

22 years old and 128k miles... less than 6k miles a year on average and you think its "leggy" :floor:

Cracking price for a WB even if it is in doom blue.

Tom who works for Ashgoods is a mate of mine for over 20 years .
He brought that 993 along to the 'out east" PCGB meet the other week.
Was a lovely example . He said it drives beautifully.

PM me if you want, I can ask him on the side if there is a deal to be done
:wack:

:hand: No need. A Colini Stick will tell you everything you need to know.

On the Spyder front I very nearly bought a 981 last year but they accepted a dealer bid 20mins before I said I would have it. That car in yellow with 18-way seats (the best), sat-nav but NO AC is up at an OPC for substantially more than they paid. I reckon a bid in the low 60s would buy it (given what they paid) as most are put off by the absence of AC. Thought long and hard about that but figured for so little use mostly with the roof off I could live without it.
