Does anyone know this white 3.4?

Don`t know the car and I only live a few miles away from the seller. Shirleys Porsche Specialists are also local, in Meriden, they are just a one/two man car sales garage with no service facilities or mechanics, they use Autohaus in Coventry for their work.
I bought my Boxster S from them and they were good as gold to deal with, that was 5 years ago and the car has been great :thumb:

A white early 996 carrera must be incredibly rare.

Has it always been white? Wouldn't bother me at £10k but some people wouldn't abide a colour change.

Wheels may be replicas - don't think the 997 turbo style came in a narrow body offset?

Looks great value on the face of it!

For £10k you can't really expect the suspension to have been replaced or brake lines, those will likely need doing but if they have been done its a bonus.

For me, at that price the engine build doesn't have to be the most comprehensive in the world.... most cars at that price won't have had anything done, so not a deal maker/breaker but worth finding out what's been done.

Quick check of MOT history

Isn't great, we have a lot of reactive Fail then Pass and a LOT of advisories, ok mostly on simple easy fix things, but I would think most owners would have noticed and fixed suspension knocks, exhaust blowing, and lights out before an MOT.

It does show suspension bits (ARB link £8 part and top mount £18 part) were worn and advisory at last MOT, I would budget to replace any remaining original suspension arms and rubber mounts to make it drive properly.

This one happening on any car never mind a 911 gets me along with other simple things like wiper blades. Why pay for a test when surely they know it's going to fail on something that would cost £10 at Halfords to fix?

Thanks all, good points and yes it's always been white so must be pretty rare!

It's an import, maybe from Japan? If your mate asks for a full list of the spec codes it should be evident where it came from. Being an import wouldn't bother me at 10k but may limit the market when it comes to selling on.
Looks nice in white. Again, spec codes will show if it was always white.

Most likely means its less rusty than a UK car as they don't use salt

However Japanese cars for JDM often have less underbody protection than UK market cars because they don't need it.... once imported to UK they rust quick unless protected. I have no idea if Porsche did anything different to UK for Japanese market, but you will be checking the usual rot spots anyway before buying

I used to have a white C2 with aerokit and very low mileage. Mine was a uk C16 car. People often thought it was a wrap or import but it was genuine . Very rare cars white when everything was blue or silver!!
