Has anyone used the opc classic servicing scheme for their 996.? I was sure it was £310 for a minor service but when I contacted Porsche Glasgow they gave me a price of £375 .
It's just too expensive , a specialist will do the same job for a lot less , guy says it was because of the parts prices , only parts involved oil filter , oil and pollen filter .
I reckon I will take it to George morrison in rutherglen .
 
I use OPC for servicing on my C2. I don't mind paying the ectra as I get the use of a new Boxster or Cayman for the day, so take a day off work to make the most of it.

I made that mistake once with a Ferrari... took advantage of a seemingly reasonable 'menu' service price.

What I'd not realised is that all the other little jobs were charged at their usual LOL labour rates.

These posh showrooms don't pay for themselves.

But agreed, if you can make a day of it and get an interesting loan car then that could swing it. Plus you can join the Porsche Classic Register, which looks nice. Who wouldn't want their tyres filled with nitrogen, for free... not to mention 15% off classic parts.

Just make sure any extra jobs are left for your indy, or check the labour rate and book time.
 
I have just used Porsche Cambridge for a classic service (£310)....was a good experience.
I ran slightly late that morning, so I got a 2018 Macan as a courtesy car, rather than one of the Caymans (which was my preference) - but was still a very nice place to be.

Whilst I could service it myself, I took a view that I would pay the extra to retain a FSH. I know some people dont see the value in this, but I wanted to keep the resale market as broad as possible, if I ever have to sell.

I did this and asked for a Boxster well in advance, took the day off work... they gave me a BMW 1 series diesel. Pffft.

Aberdeen OPC quoted me 320, I think.
Had it done by a local garage using Millers Nanodrive instead of the Mobil 1 and although the oil and filter was 145 quid it was still over 100 quid cheaper than OPC. And the local garage had no issue fitting a magnetic sump plug whereas the OPC were reticent.

I guess it depends on the OPC. I asked porsche Cambridge to fit a magnetic plug (that I supplied). They did it no problem. But did flag to me that they torqued it to the specs stamped on the new plug (19lbs/ft I think), which they said was much lower than the torque they would use on a normal Porsche sump-plug They didnt think it would be an issue, but understandably wanted to flag it......

If thats £145 for millers nanodrive oil and filter alone you are paying way too much.... try opieoils.co.uk next time with code rx8oc for more discount. Don't choose their "service kits" choose the oil 2 x 5l and the filter separately.

Yes, I used opc classic servicing last year, major service & brake fluid was £490 all in.
