Hopefully, some of you folks will be pleased to read the following post...This is an update to the thread regarding a Mark Heron (or whatever other alias he happens to be using) of The Modern Classic Car Co of Carbeth House, Killearn, Glasgow, G63 9QB.
Mark Heron recently formed another limited company by the name of "Modern Classic Car Solutions Ltd (Company number: SC580272) of which Mark Heron is shown as the only Director, appointed on the 31st October 2017. His month and year of birth are shown as December 1976. The address given as the registered office is: Strathclyde Suite, Carbeth House, Killearn, Glasgow, G63 9QB.
Mr Heron is currently under investigation by various agencies in regards to his business practices, including violation of Trading Standards, misleading advertising practices, and malpractice in regards to Consumer Rights. We will keep this forum updated as matter progress.
The first of hopefully many law suits has already started, but in the meantime, we recommend that all the information published in this forum in regards to Mark Heron is read extremely carefully and taken into account, before any potential buyer makes a decision to trade with Mark Heron, Sylvester Heron, The Modern Classic Car Co, or Modern Classic Car Solutions Ltd, or his ebay trading title/username "modernclassiccarco"
We are also aware that more than two disgruntled buyers are arranging third party viewings on some of Mark Heron's stock, so hopefully they may have further information to add, once their contacts have viewed the vehicles, on the pretext of speaking directly to Mr Heron to discuss his misdemeanors. Of course, Mr Heron will not know who these mystery shoppers are, so he may have to look over his shoulder! More to follow in due course.
Fake 930 for sale alert
Hi all. For the UK based among ourselves please be advised of a fake posing as a 930:
https://www.themodernclassiccarco.com/sales/930guards/930guards.html
The ad has been changed since i last contacted the dealer to enquire. He had the chassis and engine numbers as part of the ad at the time (moron or provocative, ur choice).
For starters, notice the complete lack of VIN & options stickers. When I asked Stephen Boag, the dealer in question, he said the door pillar VIN sticker perished during his refurbishment (the word is used liberally here) and the bonnet sticker was never there as in his extensive experience w air-cooled Porsches, late 70s to early 80s did not always have the telltale sticker He even asked another Scottish dealer specialising in used air-cooled 911s who confirmed that the stickers were hit and miss -maybe in Scotland alone?
Now, the VIN and Motor ID Stephen Boag let slip were:
Chassis : 9119303197 Engine no 6394816.
It doesn't need a sleuth to realise these are SC codes (no Stephen the 930 in the chassis is not for Porsche 930 ). If anyone has a different view I will humbly stand corrected but this stinks.
Finally notice the complete absence of the a/c compressor (can be removed) but also cabin controls etc (less likely to totally delete the a/c to this extent). Stephen obliged by saying you don't need a/c in the UK anyway
I almost got stung and luckily escaped. Handle w care.

There are a few decent sized properties in the vicinity of that postcode on that road with similar coloured stones on the drive. Looks like he doesn't live far from the postcode but its clearly a bogus address.

Do not trust these two. I repeat do not trust them.
The photos are taken at:-
Carbeth House
Killearn
This rather imposing mansion has been converted into apartments. One of the brothers, Mark Heron, appears to live there. The other (presumably half) brother, is Stephen Boag.
They are not linked in any way to Border Reivers.

Yes Tobyone I have had dealings with these clowns. I'd rather not give detail.
IMHO there are a pair of shameless crooks. Other members of family probably involved. Sylvester seems to run the ebay account.
They play off each other so you never know which of Mark or Stephen you are dealing with. They bullshine and bamboozle victims into submission.
Initially they politely engage with concerns - then the aggressive and arrogant denials, and then silent treatment.
Stay away people!

It is amazing they still get away with it.

more of a mystery how mr ebay does not know of them
so then the Modern Classic Car Company
so their picture are clever the cars are not, dont be fooled by them, as they aren't traders, since it has been proved in a court case that they have false trade paperwork

Read these reviews having purchased my car in December 2018.
I am very pleased with my motor and had no problems at all with Steven Boag. In fact I ran into a problem as I could not find my V5 for the part exchange deal we had agreed. I emailed Steven post midnight as I was due to drive up from Surrey the next day. He replied in the morning saying not to worry! We will sort it out when you get here. Much appreciated I drove up and left with my new motor and re applied for a replacement V5 which I posted on a week or so later. He trusted me and Swansea were exceptionally swift at Christmas time. I had a great drive home.
So my experiences are at total odds to what I have read since then.
My point to this post is that had I read it first I may not have the car I wanted and am very pleased with. I know having purchased a pre owned vehicle it will have its gremlins. That's the gamble you take. I cannot afford a new car so I buy what I like and modify if needs be. But of course you must do your homework as spares and repairs are expensive.
Good luck Petrol Heads and enjoy before they force us to buy electric!
