How did you find adding your Fabspeed kit Phil or did you not notice any difference as I know it coincided with the start of you troubles.

Mike, You will need to remap the car to get the best from the induction, Its runs with no remap but the changes are too big for the car to relearn properly. I liked it and not just because it looks good ,it sounds good and does seem to do what it says on the tin . and then the car broke :nooo: :nooo: :thumb:

I have a Fabspeed intake and IPD intake manifold. Great noise - angry, deep induction noise. Can't hear it when you are sensible :)

In parallel i had a tune from Sharkxxxx , since it is intelligently self tuning it made up for the hardware and you really feel the difference, increased torque and response.
Before the tune i did not notice any reduction in torque or increased fuel consumption. TBH, you won't feel a few HP difference but after a tune it is noticeable.

Thanks for the reply's chaps.

As you said Phil / Bircheun i do plan to get a map once i do fit the induction kit but really i am not in any rush it will just get done at some point this year, maybe! As i have my beautiful 10 month old to play with, the wife also wants every room decorated and i have the MX5 laid up as well which i am changing a few things on, so busy busy busy! Nick just got me looking again after talking about his mods and the EC kit coming up for sale which got me thinking, i am a bit like that i tend to flit between my interests as i have the attention span of a gnat so jump between them all. But please let me know if you see a Fabspeed kit for sale anywhere as i have a spare deck lid ready to cut a second air duct into to get more fresh air around the kit i.e gen 2 / X51 style

I pretend to myself that my car is not a garage queen but this winter it has been nothing but and I am sad to say that I think I has been sorn since November due to my car time being spent on another project. But today being the 1st of April with the sun shining it was time to get it taxed and I treated my car with a clay, mop and polish before the Essex boy in me had to get down the seafront for a cheeky shot while the car is gleaming.

Hey bud,
Hows things?

The car is sitting with perfect stance. Really liking the design and colour choice of the wheel.

Have you decided to pull the trigger on the breathing mods?

Thanks RXP I think the springs have really settled now and she is sitting exactly how I wanted it to and the wheels change colour from night to day a bit like the body work so it's like having a few different cars.

I have held off to be honest waiting on some more feedback about what Wayne said about the 82mm throttle body, I even cancelled the new air scoops order I had with OPC for the other deck lid I was going to cut about. If things transpire and more bhp can be had from 82mm and induction kit i will go for the Fabspeed kit for sure but that is in the balance waiting for news.

If not I will have a go at a couple more interior mods I think bit nothing major, maybe a bit more paint and a leather recondition. Trouble is I have a new toy that needs a lot of my attention which has been taking over a little, especially as the Porsche is where I want it really for now.

If you do let me know and i will send you the details of the powder coat used at it took me quite a while to find one in copper and not gold

Not really worth much of an update and a little behind as I did all this at the end of May but just catching up, as the old girl got an MOT which was passed with flying colours although I have only shamefully done 1000 miles since the last one so this was to be expected. Although with an exhaust / CAT swap in this time there is always slight trepidation on the emissions test.

Even though the mileage was so low I still did and annual oil change which I do myself in the interim but I thought I would have a look at the filter to see if there was anything untoward to be found but I have to say it was spotless, even the oil hadn't blacked completely.
