I'm going for the distinguished looking gent in the middle, sporting the Porsche crest. :?:

Just arrived home from VLN7 and another good weekend at the Nurburgring.

We qualified the car on pole position in our class, had a few problems in the race (two within my 1.5 hour stint) and finished third.

This was only the cars fourth ever race and the previous gearbox issue was resolved by a TCU reflash which made it so much nicer to drive. The car is still being developed and I'm very happy being part of the team.

Next race (for me) VLN9 20th October.

So my final race, VLN9 20th October has been and gone.

After a delayed start due to fog, we qualified the car third in class, had a class battle with a Renault Megane RS and moved up to second place, but dropped again to finish third after having to stop for a splash-and-dash fuel stop on the last but one lap.

It doesn't seem like six months ago that I was in immense anticipation of the first race and the results were beyond my dreams for a first season.

I drove 3 RCN races, 4 VLN races, with 2 pole positions, a P1 and 2 P3 finishes, 2 trophies and no crashes (although there were a few 'moments').

The Manheller team were fantastic, professional, slick and friendly, it was like being part of a family and I was made to feel very welcome. A lot of fun and laughter was had, it made my part so relaxing and a pleasure to be part of.

I've decided that I will be driving all 9 VLN races next year, now the long wait until VLN1 23rd March 2019.

I knew all that practice on the M25 would pay off one day. :D

What a brilliant way to live the dream :worship:

Racing delivers a fearsome hit of adrenaline, that's for sure, as we can see by the fact that you've booked to do the whole series next year

These reports are great, Martian, keep them coming through 2019 please.

Thank you, feeling the love.

I've just been sent the final VLN season results, there were 283 drivers in total, I finished 47th. Quite happy with that considering I only did 4 out of the 9 races. 8)

All nine dates confirmed to drive the Manheller 328i in 2019.

Come and say hello if you're over at any time. Eight of the races are four hour, the August one is six hours.

Dates below. :)

So the season is nearly upon us, I fly to Germany later today, with the team testing on Friday, race Saturday, home Sunday.

I was told yesterday that I'm now driving the brand new BMW F30 330i all season, the 328i has been allocated to other drivers. The car was only completed a few days ago, it's currently in at the graphics shop having the team and sponsorship logos added.

As ever, if you're over at any VLN race weekend, pop over and say hi.
