Engine struggles to turn over when warm

Hi all,

My 05 C2S starts fine when cold. However, if I, say, drive to the shops it really struggles to turn over when I come to restart it. It sounds like the battery is drained. However, the next day it starts fine again, as if someone has magically refilled the battery overnight. The battery is fairly new.

Thanks,

Chris

Sounds as if you might have the common faulty power lead. Check resistance of leads alternator to battery and starter.

Cool, thanks. Is it a simple fix or a Porsche specialist visit?

Unfortunately a simple fix but loads of hours to achieve. I think you will find a diy on Rennlist may even be on here, have a search.

As said, faulty power lead. Had mine replaced last year because of same symptoms.

There are a few things it can be .. but this lead is the usual cause .

If your car is a manual then its about 4 hours labour + parts ..

If yours is a Tiptronic then its an engine drop im afraid .

I would tend to take off the throttle houseing and look at the lead at the back of the starter .. it tends to melt the plastic insulation if its this.

Job entails ..

Air box off , alternator out , a/c compressor out then just undo it and try and feed it around the many obsticles that are in the way.

Its connected bottom end on the o/s/r of the gearbox .
