For sale Topgear valved exhaust system with X pipe all in stainless steel, approx 6 months old complete with remotes etc. Works in a similar way to factory PSE with valves for noisy or quiet operation. £700.00 Fits all 997-2.tel 07831427768

Hiya- please forgive me asking 2 possibly stupid definitely boring questions, but do these A) fit the 997.1 too and B) do the exhausts (not the x pipe) actually have any gains over the Porsche switchable sports exhaust in terms of sound, lightness or performance?

Apologies for my tediousness.

No will not fit 997gen1, all the info is on Topgear website. From memory they say around 15bhp gain, but the main reason most fit them is the extra sound
Which when fitted with xpipe is louder than the pse to my ears.

This is a pretty good buy for someone.

I spent this much on my H&S bypass and Gundo hack, and this has the benefit of being considerably newer than hacking old back boxes. (and probably sounds better too!)

Hello,
An enquiry about your Topgear exhaust system, can I ask why you didn't like it after 6 months?
My neighbour has a 997.2 with the standard exhaust and would like the switchable system which I have on my 996.
Regards
Ian

Hi Ian, reason I have it for sale is I bought an Ackrapovic system from someone on the forum. Does it sound 3k better ? No I don’t think it does but
Once you start upgrading its a slippery slope .

Hi Steve,
I'm having some trouble with the PM system, almost certainly operator error!
Is this a direct replacement for the standard 997.2 system in regard to physical fitment ( excluding the valve tubing and wiring) ?
Is the X pipe a standard item on the OEM system ? ( I dont have access to the car at the moment so I can't check)
Regards

X-pipe is not standard. There is usually a third silencer there. The x-pipe reduces weight as well as increasing airflow and noise.
