Sorry to hear of your situation HG.

I was there 18 years ago and know what you`re going through, I ended up owning only the clothes I was wearing.

There is life on the other side young man, make sure you get to see your son on a regular basis, the other things matter less than your relationship with him.

I tried Alex`s solution and am still doing it 18 years later Grin

There is plenty of support on here from people who have walked in your shoes, you are welcome to PM me and give me a call if you need someone to talk to Thumb

Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck. As others have said cars and houses come and go. Just remember what doesn’t kill you can only make you stronger. I’m sure you will look back at this one day in a better place. Try and post pictures if you can. Stay strong and chin up.

You know what chaps this has almost brought a tear to my eye.

I can’t thank you all enough for your messages of support, I was in a very bad place a few weeks ago.

I’ve perked up a bit no thanks to the NHS, only offer of support was the Samaritans number and the chance of some therapy in get this...9 months time. Pretty much useless then.

I always knew this was the kind of thing you had to deal with yourself having suffered the joys of PTSD in the past.

Anyway, currently car is still in the garage and mortgage on hold so I can relax a little. I will list the car properly very soon but it’s still gutting. I wanted to keep until my boy was old enough to have it, actually he is more gutted than I am and he’s only 7!

Anyway, thanks all. Surely the best forum in the known universe and full of genuinely good people. No idea why most people think Porsche owners are knobs.

Thumb like many others, been there done it, lived in the car, travel lodges then a shitty flat, started again etc etc. However bad things seem there’s a new life waiting for you, chin up things will get better Thumb
Unless you really have to it’s a really bad time to sell obviously, but whatever happens good luck with the sale Thumb

Cheers Sponge, yes it’s not exactly prime car buying time.

I would like to think there is a way to hold onto my p&j but sadly I don’t think I can return to my old career just yet - far too stressful an environment at the mo (working in live TV)

At least now I can at least see a future where I may be able to get another C4S, eventually

Pete

I'm pleased to read that update Hans,

It sounds like you're getting things prioritised and into some sort of order.
You certainly sound more chipper than in your first post. Like I said earlier, cars and houses come and go. You'll get back into a 911 in the future I'm sure.
Look after yourself and your son.
Keep us updated. Thumb

As others have said, concentrate and the most important things and the other stuff should fall into place.

Nothing wrong with renting a home either - I've only just bought a house and I'm 41 in January! gives you lots more flexibility and freedom from a mortgage if you go down that route.

Plenty of 911s out there and when you are back on your feet and ready you can get another - you never know you might be able to get something even more exotic!

Whilst beer sounds like a good idea definitely a bit of a downer!

Some good ideas about contacting the specialist sales guys like 911virgin and eporsch, dove motor company etc - see what they can offer you for the c4s.

Hope you feel the weight lift soon fella and stick in there as the song goes "things can only get better".
