991 prices

Realistically your going to lose on a 'normal' newer Porsche. The retail on the 991 im buying was just shy of 110 grand, and ive paid 62,500 on a 5 year old car, im fairly happy someone else took the hit of 47,500 and I see it being worth a minimum of 50-55k in 4 years time, as its newer and on cheaper finance ill gladly take that little hit :thumb:
Bit off topic, but is your car the one from Redline?
As well as the one in this video...

It just dropped another £20k after watching that SB.

I've been looking at a 2008 997.2 C2 Manual 30k miles at a specialist, it's on for £37k. It's a lot of money for a simple NB C2, don't you think? What would a similar early 991 be?

A 2012 991 C2 with 30k miles, at a specialist, would be c£53k

There are cars out there for mid-£40ks but they have far higher miles. The % differential between them and similar 997s is the same.

Any 997 and the equivalent 991 are still at two different 'price points'.

Agree with T8, been looking at the same 997/991 comparison myself, bargain hunting, a big premium for the 991 still exists. Let's see how 2019 pans out. But the 992 starting price being >5% higher isn't helping!

I'm on the hunt for a decent spec low mileage 991 and can't seem to find anything under £65k!!

Would be interesting to hear from people who have just bought a 991. What price did you pay?

Will there be more 991s on the market in the next few months with the 992 out?

I just picked up a 2014 C4s with 13k on the clock for £69k private sale with transferable OPC warranty, cars like new.

There are good cars out there for a fair price, this would have been near £80k at an OPC, you just need to wait. It took me nearly 8 months!

Have you spoken with Mark @ Stirling's Porsche? He has impeccable cars.

It's more likely spring will start to bring some life back into the market in terms of numbers for sale. But that also usually coincides with sellers becoming a bit more optimistic on pricing.

Suns out so I'm off for the a drive. Hope everyone gets into the seats they want or already own and enjoys the drive... 8)

Definitely!

There are some cars still for sale that were up when I started my hunt in August!

I've been very seriously looking for the right 991S for under £55k for the last 8 months. I'm not looking for too much 'spec' wise' but I do want a sub 50k mile car in the right colour-combo . Asking prices are very much the same now as they have been for several months but nearly all that are on the market today have been for sale for a while. None of them have been tempting enough for me to view.

It's interesting that you're saying the same about cars in the £55k-£65k bracket. What spec and mileage are you looking for. :?:

Deliveries of the 992 will bring a few more 991s to market. Similarly a lot of people buy cars when the plate changes so some finance deals will be coming to an end shortly which might cause a few existing owners to be changing.

Given that most 992s are going to be £100k+ cars it seems likely that the market for 2-7 year old cars will be pretty buoyant for a while.

Yes, I was speaking to the Sales Manager at my local OPC and he was saying that "most" people who are changing up to a 992 are trading 991.2 which are coming up or passed 3 years old.

I wanted an NA 3.8 so 991.1 and the market does seem strong for these at the moment, the ones still sat unsold for months seem to be the higher miles cars or early cars without DAB.

It's a funny old world 911 sales, it's like nothing I have experienced before in my car buying, spec and colour combo seem critical to resale but then when you are spending north of £60k on a 7 year old can you have a right to be!

FYI there's a good group on Facebook for 911 sales, "Porsche 911 Cars for Sale" where someone does all the searching for you, mostly eBay sales but you do get some circa £50k 991's on there.

Worth joining if you are on the dreaded social media platform.

I'm just in the process of trading my Manual 997.2 C4 on 45K miles in for a very high spec 991.1 C2S - 25k miles with all the bits & bobs 20" wheels, sports exhaust, pdk, sports crono, lots of top spec stuff so very excited,

With my local opc main dealer i am pleased to say happy with my deal , seems that both the 997.2 & 991.1 are still in demand they are quite keen to take my car at a good price & my 997 has only dropped £3k in 4 years since I bought it from them the same dealer.

Once its all sorted I will post some pics.
