Just a message to say goodbye! It’s been emotional!
Thanks to everyone on 911uk for being so helpful and generally all round nice people over the nearly 9 years I’ve had the 993.
It’s been an absolutely amazing car, I have loved every minute of it, and I will miss it, but time for a change after all this time.
The 993 absolutely deserves its reputation as a reliable, usable, and massively enjoyable classic.
Ignore the doom and gloom about ‘nothing selling’ at the moment etc. My car sold within 4 hours, for the full asking price, and I could have sold it 5 times over. I had several people offer to transfer me the full amount the same day without even seeing it.
A trader offered me £30k for it, and I was told by numerous ‘classic Porsche experts’ that I would have to accept approx £38k for a private sale. One well known classic Pork dealer told me he had barely managed to sell anything since June.
It was all complete lies. Lies I tell you!
Some final photos:

Congrats on the sale Ningapower
Another long term 993 owner moves on.
I had mine 6 and thought that was a long time but 9 yrs is a testament to the 993 and how good it is?
You sticking around on 911uk?

I’ll still be around!
The Mrs has a Cayenne S, so I’ll be relegated to the odd post in the Cayenne forum from now on!
Next for me? Ferrari 360 or Alfa 4C, but I simply cannot decide which one to buy.

Congrats! If the figures the dealers were throwing out for a private sale were bs, do you mind sharing roughly what you did actually sell for and the mileage? _________________ current: 993 carrera coupe, manual, iris blue, bilstein pss10

124k Miles - C2 Varioram Manual.
Asked £xxxk on a big Facebook retro/sportscars group, and my phone nearly melted.
No exaggeration I had people messaging me and saying they would pay more than whoever I had agreed to sell it to.
I deliberately avoided advtertising it on Porsche Facebook groups and forums due to the amount of cars getting advertised on them and not even getting a sniff (including 993’s).

What a great looking car. I'm not up to speed on all things 993 but if some asked me what it was for sale at I would have said £60k. _________________ 997.2 Carrera 2S GT Silver/Cocoa.

Absolutely!
I watched a lovely, super clean, 993 C2 Manual coupe in arena red go though Silverstone Auctions a couple of months ago. Only 65k miles and low owners and it made £35k and I wasn’t going to let that happen to me!
Mine mostly attracted the attention of non-Porsche enthusiasts who said things like “I normally don’t like old Porsches, but that thing is porn” etc. And that was certainly reflected in the sales price.
It’s a real nice car for the new owner, so that’s all that matters in the end. _________________ 993 C2

People who saw it, and weren’t 993 nerds like me, always assumed it was a lot more than it’s true value. _________________ 993 C2

Congrats on the sale Tim, no shock you had little difficulty selling it. Anyone would struggle to find Arena Red looking as stunning as yours. _________________ 991.1 Carrera GTS

As ever, that car looks magnificent. Good luck with your next toy, it's been a pleasure chatting about non-Illuminati approved mods (19" wheels, etc!).

Soooooooooo much beauty for c£40k.
To think that some people pay 100x that for works of art they can only hang on a wall. _________________ 2007 Guards Red 997 Turbo Tiptronic

That colour looks stunning. I think it would suit the newer models too and nicely dilute the amount of blacks, greys and silver cars we see. _________________ 997.1 Turbo Coupe, manual, black/black. 29k miles under its belt.

Congrats on the sale, Ninjapower - I'd be grateful if you would send me a PM with details of the group you sold your 993 on. Am still debating selling mine and swapping for an LHD aircooled piece of pork! _________________ 1995 Carrera 2 coupe manual, midnight blue
