My 2013 Cayenne Diesel S has PCM 3.1, which has never been updated. Having enquired at my local OPC about getting it updated I was told that the last update was released in 2015/2016.

They didn't seem to know when the next update is scheduled so I was just wondering whether anyone on here has any inside information on when the next update is likely to be released?

I've read that there's a major update coming early next year so i'm waiting until then as my 2012 Cayenne needs updating too... Porsche should follow other manufacturers and sort their pricing as at the moment its telephone number pricing which is a joke....
I'd like to link my phone to PCM and use Waze if possible

Decided to buy an Apple Car Play upgrade kit instead for the PCM 3.1. This will enable Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify etc to be accessed on the PCM screen via the connected Iphone. The kit consists of an additional printed circuit board, Car Play decoder box and various cables. Found a car audio specialist which has experience fitting these kits, so will report back once it is installed.

Is there an Android equivalent?

I ordered mine from a UK based supplier rather than buying direct from the Far East. Their website states that the Android equivalent is 'Coming Soon'.

Had the Apple Car Play kit fitted to my PCM 3.1 today.

The install was carried out by Jay at Sextons Audio in London who did an excellent job. I chose Sextons as they have experience of fitting this upgrade.

It's great to have all the features of Apple Car Play (Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze for navigation, ITunes or Spotify for music, email / text using SIRI) and not having to pay Porsche their extortionate fee to upgrade maps on the PCM sat nav!

Can you share details of the product please?

Does it keep the pcm head unit?

Yes, the big plus is that it keeps the PCM unit.

It consists of a printed circuit board which sits on top of the existing one, various cables including a new microphone and USB point.

There are various 'how to install' videos on You Tube if you are brave enough to have a go at installing it yourself, but I was not prepared to take the risk.

The kit can be purchased from the Far East but I wanted the assurance that it would work and that there would be comeback if something went wrong. I purchased the kit from NM Automotive in the Channel Islands. The contact, Nick Marquis, was extremely pleasant and helpful to deal with so I am happy to recommend.

just an update in case anyone is interested.

spoke to Nick at NM Automotive earlier today and it seems the Android Auto version is now available.

Unfortunately I've got PCM 3.0 and this isn't supported but hope it's of use to someone else on this forum.

I like the idea of this... I've a 2010 (newer shape 958) Cayenne with the touch screen Nav. Is this PCM 3 or 3.1 please?

2009 997.2 C2s. Put me out of my misery and tell me I can't do this upgrade either please 🤣

On your PCM unit if you press the 'Source' and 'Info' buttons simultaneously this should reveal which version of PCM you have.
