Just replaced my engine mounts- WOW!

Even if i has the box on the ground I would still opt for using a properly machined extraction tool, as opposed to improvising. So if I'm going to buy it, I'll try do it in position first.

It will be next summer border funds allow I would say based on my recent splurge on suspension etc...

Mine have just arrived and there is a wider flange than I'd thought (been there before!) should I trim it down a bit more?

Also what is NVH 😊

Powerflex did a product recall on them. If you contact them, they'll do a free swap for the new style.

NVH - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise,_vibration,_and_harshness

I only ordeded them from PF on Monday so I hope they're the revised ones? Part number is PFR57-530-AA.

Thanks for the NVH definition, I'd guessed the N And V but not the H!

Thanks, I am after the Pelican engine mounts, but they dont list a Turbo ?

I just searched on there entering 2002 Turbo and under Engine - miscellaneous, 8 items come up.

Same part number as non Turbo though so I'm not sure if it's still using the Turbo search criteria or not.

This page. -

A quick email and they'll tell you. I'm sure they'll have an option although how much more it is than the Rein ones I don't know.

I bought the Rein from Pelican when I was in Florida a couple of Xmas's ago.
Bargain. Standard and perfect for road use.

Thanks. but they are for a 993 mate ?

No they're for 996 but have 993 part number.

They're the ones I bought but I'm guessing it may still not help if the Turbo is different to the Carrera. Strange that the aftermarket ones are listed to fit Carrera and GT3 which is M96 vs Mezger.

An email to them is in order. :thumb:

Yep they're the ones, so no further trimming needed?

I fitted the updated Powerflex gearbox mounts to mine and smeared them with a good coating of Red rubber grease (not normal grease as it will attack the mount!) and it added zero increase to the NVH but improved the drivetrain feel. I recommend them,
I had previously fitted 993 RS engine mounts which were also a noticeable improvement.

Hmm I might need to take another look at my gearbox inserts, maybe lube up  i went in dry and maybe struggled to get it in the whole way

I get a lot of noise and vibration esp around 4k rpm.

I just used fairy liquid.........for the inserts that is. Don't want to be blowing no bubbles whilst on the job.
