My 981 Boxster mod thread

Absolutely stunning and I love the ultra trendy grey interior! :worship:
 
That interior is beautiful.
 
Full leather makes such a big difference to the 981 interior. That car had nearly every option ticked, great find
 
Really enjoyed the car today, took it for a few trips just to get into the way of things. I love the little extras such as the wheel moving up and the seat back as I get out of the car. I also love the separate AC controls. My lady is from South America and in this weather is always cold so often secretly turns up the heat until my feet are melting off so having individual controls is great.

Car drives very well and is properly quick when you floor it.

So I've already enquired about a sports exhaust upgrade. First quote I had from a specialist is £2100, but I'm going to talk to Wilmslow tomorrow and see if they can do better. Also going to see about possibly having a GTS exhaust fitted whilst I'm at it. The car already sounds great, just a bit too quiet for me. Should be able to get this wrapped up before I go back to sea so I'm excited about that.

Other mods planned for the future:
Apple CarPlay
Custom sports seats upgrade (more to come on that)
Exterior GTS aesthetic mods
Possible wheel change (maybe in Weiss gold, haha)
 
Hi - do tell how you plan to get Apple CarPlay working on a 981? I was told it was impossible 😕

There is a PCB that has been made for these PCM units. You have to fit it in the unit but it basically gives you full Apple Car Play.

that does looks good- but probably best I don't touch anything while its still under warranty. I'll be very interested to hear how you get on with it. :thumbs:

So went to Wilmslow Porsche yesterday. I was talking to the excellent service guys about the exhaust on my car. I wanted to book the car in for the sports exhaust to be fitted. And I thought whilst I'm there I should ask if I can fit the PSE from the GTS instead of the standard S PSE.

Only issue is there doesn't seem to be in PET any difference between them. Alistair the guy in charge of parts was on leave so we couldn't ask him. Does any one have any part numbers for a PSE from a BGTS?

Anyway the car is booked in for 6 Nov to have it fitted and he's going to talk to Alistair when he returns to see if he knows what the difference is.If anyone can help that would be great.
 
I thought the difference was in engine mapping, tweaked for the GTS, augmented by the sound symposer (a route for the sound to travel to the cabin) ie not in the exhaust itself :dont know:

Doesn't that have a slight drone in the cabin that some GTS owners have noted :dont know:
