Lovely C4S, hell of a shine you've got on there :worship:

Has it been professionally detailed and do you keep it looking that way ?

Thanks it is immaculate it's been driven a fair bit since then so not always like the pictures! I do maintain it in the way recommended and I have ended up with a garage full of products now that I didn't intend to have. It is gleaming to be fair.

It had 100 hours spent on it correcting the car and detailing all surfaces with G Technic. I am in Northern Ireland and it was carried by Colum Jordan in Bangor, Co Down. He's a fussy guy and it shows in his work. I'm well pleased!

Here's mine

Such a lovely car weejimmy, talking with somebody recently who's owned quite a selection of modern NA Porches inc 991, 981 GT4, Spyder, Boxster, he's just got a 991.2 GTS, reckons it's the ultimate all rounder, apart from not having an open top, it has a huge span of capability :worship:

Very pleased with the recent acquisition, added black rear badges and lookey likey Carrera T side decals.

It does indeed. I recently back to backed mine over known roads with a new Aston Vantage and an Exige 380. It mullered the Aston and was nearly as much fun as the Exige, with vastly more practicality and massively better build quality. The Aston was a disappointment (no poise or balance, very stiff rear end so it fidgets and struggles to put its power down). I adored the Exige (its been too long since I owned a Lotus) but I couldn't pay the sort of money they are asking for them.

As you says, GTS has it all.

PS - mine has a sunroof. It and the side windows are barely closed so the fresh air is sorted as well. The sunroof is essential to avoid buffeting for windows down motoring!

Another cracking 991.2, how are you getting on with the Carrera T?

good question, thx for asking 😁

only a few hundred miles so far. my first 911.

as with all 911s i'm sure, it's a lovely machine.

the t ticked all the right boxes for me at the right time.

in my head, i wanted a manual, narrow bodied, base engined, 2wd, rear wheel steer 911, with rear seats and pcm.

for me, even less power/torque (eg 320bhp/300lbft) would have been perfect i think as i'm purely a road recreational driver. the macan gts felt beefy enough for me and that was half a ton heavier with similar power/torque.

back in april or may, i had a chat with the nearest opc who told me that i couldnt spec a t from new because of the factory shutdown and it was looking unlikely that they would continue to build them when the factory reopened...

so i kept checking the classifieds every couple of weeks and got lucky in august when a used car with my exact spec became available 😁

the deal was sealed on the day of the test drive and the cars swapped a week later.

all good so far and enjoying the process of getting to know the t better.

actually, MJA911, your latest C2 looks a lot like my now-sold macan gts, with the black wheels and the black decal. add red calipers and they could have been porsche siblings 😆

i think i prefer the black of yours over the agate/titanium grey of mine, better contrast to silver

in your opinion, how does the 991.2 C2 compare against your previous 911s ? are there any standout differences, good or bad ?

thx.

My favourite combo is GT Silver/Black, mine is Platinum Silver but it looked quite like GT Silver so I was happy with that. I noticed the decal colour for the Carrera T is Agate, I guess they wanted one decal colour for all body colours.

Haven't driven it much yet, certainly not in a range of situations, but clearly its much more refined, feels planted and I can feel the wider track at the front helping turn in. Doesn't feel as agile and compact and compared to the GT3 (not a fair thing to do) its very quiet and not as fast.

After looking at the options for the money I wanted to have tied up in a 911 (or Cayman), I'm pleased to have chosen the 991 C2. As well as favourable initial driving impressions, I'm enjoying the modernity, materials, build quality and to my eyes, overall styling. Road tax and petrol cost down, although Insurance went up

apols, i meant 991 c2, not 991.2 c2. i'm a 911 noob  so still can't tell the difference visually, but you clearly say that yours is a 2012.

it's good to know that you can feel the progress over previous models and that you got what you wanted :thumb:

i suspect my next porsche will be an suv again, as by that time i wont be able to get in and out of a 911 anymore ! :eek:ld: :)
