Black "Carrera" on rear of silver 997

Hi. The tip of the "C" on my rear badge snapped off and I've now got a new replacement badge. However, I've always thought the silver/gunmetal colour is a bit lost on a silver car so I'm thinking of spraying the new badge matt black before fitting. Does anyone have any pics of a black Carrera badge on the boot of a silver 997? Any thoughts on whether I should use matt spray paint or a plasti-dip type of spray? Thanks for your input. :thumb:

BLACK WILL LOOK SO MUCH BETTER :thumb: USE PLASTIDIP MATT IF YOU HATE IT PEEL IT OFF :thumb:

:agree: what Phil said.

I tried plastidip, but didn't like the finish (wasn't super smooth).

Then I discovered you can buy black emblems from your local OPC for very reasonable cost (just drop the '4' if you have a C2): https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK99XBLKLOGO.html

I'm assuming U.K. dealers can provide the same.

Here's the end result on my white car (pic taken last weekend)...

Cheers Phil.

Now I did use plastidip on the lower part of the rear bumber (the fake valence bit), kinda like what they do on GTS cars. That worked out pretty well. Here's a few pics of others (from Rennlist) who did something similar...

Karl , member monster did the same plastidipped the lower bit at the bottom of the rear bumper aka GTS and your right it does look good and has lasted very well. :thumb:

Thanks for the replies. All done now, looks a lot better than the silver/gunmetal. Really pleased with the result and I'm sure it's added an extra 20bhp to the performance too! Mine is a Gen1 so there's no real definition of the rear valance to paint/plasti-dip black, but it does look great on the Gen 2's where you have a clearly defined line. Thanks again, as ever useful advice from forum members B-)
