I am in two minds to leave the rubber strip off the rear bumper and get the holes filled

I'd leave it off, as well as the side strips. I never put the side strips back on mine and think it looks much cleaner :thumb:

I am leaving the side rubbing strips off but decided to stick the bumper rubber back on priced a new one up today £88

coulstar car was painted at Iain Ross refinishers they have painted three of my cars no hesitation in reccommending last one was my red targa

So just the mirrors to go on hopefully remeber to put the gasket on before soldering the wires unlike when I rebuilt the 964 !and thats the bodywork just about done coming together nicely :thumb:

Bad news is it would appear the thermostat is jammed shut not getting water circulating

Failed its mot today on emissions  need to get to the bottom of the blue/white smoke compression test the next stop.

On a positive note it drove tickety boo back and forward from the garage and no surprise the new suspension felt spot on

We are going to give it a compression test and take it from their, also found nice pool of oil this morning below the starter motor/bell housing . I suspect the engine is coming back out no big deal, bearing in mind the only time the car run previously was to load it on the trailer to take it home so were on a bit of a journey of discovery :D including the noisy bearing either in the torque tube or gearbox thats also on the list.
