Hello Everyone, I am new to the forum and am looking for some guidance!
Although my car is 15 years old it has only done 22k so I need to use it more. Problem is got used to having new conveniences such as sat nav and bluetooth and my car only has standard radio.
Need advice on what to do ie retro fit Porsche items or fit new such as flip out devices.
Would appreciate any views/ advice.
Many thanks, David

Your issue is one that has been discussed loads of times before.

Go to the 'Search Forum' tab at the top right of the screen and key the following .........

double AND din

The result will give you dozens of threads to peruse.

Do the same with Bluetooth and you'll get a similar number of answers.

Have fun :bye:

Thank you for your direction, as you say there are any threads. Trouble is they start from different points, have different objectives and end in different places!
From what I can gather retro fit of Porsche PCM 2 is difficult to get ones head around never mind fitting so looks like flip out single din is route to go. However technology seems to change yearly and nothing recent so I'll have to rely on my own internet research.

:welcome:

Hope you get it sorted

We love pics on here, load some up of your car if you can :camera:

I'm in the same position and agree with you about the lack of detail about face lift cars.

The challenge is the MOST system. My local car audio specialist has suggested that I fit a new head unit and run the output through the bulkhead and plug it into the plug that takes the output from the Funk amplifier thus bypassing the MOST system.

There are 996 specific double DIN fitting kits but they don't always fit well as Alex Yates found out: http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=125771&highlight=serious+moddin

You also have the challenge of finding the options you want (DAB, Bluetooth, CD, DVD SatNAV etc.) and you will lose access to the car's computer data although you still have the instrument cluster display.

I plan to try in the autumn.

Thanks Mike, that's very useful. Is the Funk amplifier standard Porsche fitment and do you know where I can access it?
Just got off phone from my local audio specialists and they are saying special wiring to fit to Porsche loom is ridiculous money and I guess that's what your guys are trying to avoid.

If it can be wired for a reasonable amount the suggestion is a Pioneer flip out android head unit that can take sat nav from your I phone plus of course has Bluetooth capability.

Good luck with your endeavours, cheers, David.
