After looking at the air filters over the weekend, I stupidly drove off with the MAF plug disconnected. The Check Engine Light came on.
I realised my mistake and reconnected it, but will the CEL reset itself or stay on?

The car as you have discovered will recheck the fault .. something like this it will clear pretty soon and turn out the eml .. things like lambda sensors and emission faults take much longer .
