C4S (Gen 2): Black wheel options

Alfaian said:
Hi, your wheels would look great in gloss black with maybe a coloured rim of your choice.

Then get it lowered and wheel spacers fitted

:yeah:

Match your door handles too 8)

pretty sure the gen1 and 2 NB cars are 295 rear the WB cars are 305 rear also when looking at wheels the offsets are different for WB and NB cars . I have a set of AG ruger mesh in the garage but for WB fitment ,Currently running Vertini Magic 19s on the car at the moment and the gen1 lowered on techarts the gen2 lowered on H&R :thumb:

Here's a pic of the same wheels finished in Black with a thin Silver Lip. Add some spacers and your car will look the nuts. :thumb:

Thanks for the photos. I really want the maximum dished/concave look, so leaning towards Ruger Mesh and Vertini Magic.

What are the issues to be considered with spacer fitment?

Would different alloys represent a "modification" so far as Insurance is involved?

I've generally found over the years that if alloys are changed with another OEM product then the increase to your premium is negligible, whereas aftermarket products tend to make premiums a little higher.

Speak with your insurer prior to purchase. :thumb:

This is not correct. NB Carreras with the wider rims use 305, like with the Carrera Sport wheels.

Ah ok thats worth noteing you rarely see a NB carrera with 305s guess it was not taken up by many first owners specing the car. :thumb:

Thanks for posting the Oz wheels :thumb:

They look nice; but I am leaning towards a concave look.

Did you fit any spacers?

Balls. I don't know how I mounted those shots sideways...

Anyway, the OZs don't look quite so black in real life. They look dark grey against the side stripes. But hey ho. I do have 12mm spacers on the rear, as I have 19x11s with the stock offset. No 12mm spacer on the front as one has gone awol over the winter. I'm planning to try the 7mm jobs again at the front as I have fitted the OEM motorsport studs to make life easier when swapping rims.

I should add some fresher pictures as the car is now running H&R springs and it got a full realignment, so there is less wheel gap, and more camber. The front stance in particular looks undernourished... and I like the slightly more pointy feel you get with a wider front track.

Mark, remember if you decide to look at wider rubber as yours is AWD 4s you need to increase the front and back to the right size or you will mess up the AWD system eg 235 , 305 wider would be 245, 325. spacers and lowering are fine on an AWD car its only if you increase the rubber you need to get it right front and back :thumb:
