Wrapping my 996 turbo

Martin996RSR said:
Someone should post a pic of that Cayman in the race-inspired wrap that looked like it had just finished LeMans. That car looks epic, and if I had a spare grand then it's what I would do with my 996.

That's a stunning scheme, and I bet it looks better in real life.

A few questions for those in the know:

1. Does removing the wrap cause damage and does it need to be done by a specialist?

2. Typically how long does a wrap last?

3. When it comes to selling time, does the collective wisdom recommend removal or selling with?

Thanks
BM

I loved Kim's weathered martini wrap although strickly speaking it wasnt a wrap as he custom did it himself using plasti dip so would peel off very easily when you wanted to. but race livery is very in and looks great . also here's Geez's mates GT2 in Martini livery.

what a lovely pair they are

See the martini on the 996 looks well, not sure if because it is dark, there is something about the orange on the front in the gulf livery doesn't look right imo

1. No, not if done by someone who knows what they are doing. I.e. a specialist. They are relatively quick to remove so not expensive to undo.
2. Most quality cast vinyl comes with 5 year warranty. They can last much longer usually UV damage is what starts to kill it. So garaged cars do well.
3. Original always wins For widest audience or option of removal at sellers cost might work, take good pictures before having it wrapped!

yeah, I thought of getting the Gulf graphics for my Riviera blue one.
like this :thumb:
but maybe not all those stickers :?:

I've been contemplating doing my silver C4S. Riviera Blue for me :thumb:

As I said in an earlier post you won't find Riviera blue or any other Porsche colour for that matter. You can find colours close to the ones you want in the manufacturers colour charts. There are downloadable PDF's for avery and 3m in my previous posts link they are too big to upload here directly

I guess its personal taste mate but I think the gulf looks great :thumb: :thumb:

dont get me wrong i love gulf colours, just the way that bumper is

the cup car look amazing

Ive actually thought about this as my car need paint but I don't want to do the whole thing. I aslo quite like the idea of changing it but then being able to revert back to std colour underneath. Im not a polisher so works out fine as well.

I was however thinking of going for something like the current Gt3 grey crayon or nardo after seeing on one at the weekend. I think they would really suit the 996 shape. It may be a little bit less OTT and I love wild colours but I think its very subtle. Google nardo 996 to see a nice turbo done.

What I find interesting here is that it could be an easy way to pimp up an otherwise 'boring' colour, such as black or white - lots of cars out there in those colours, which would not float my boat as standard

Similar to the Martini colours, but I like this one:

Also agree that a 996 in the Nardo grey looks the dogs doodahs. Would go well with fuchs...... though maybe a bit too 997 sports classic?
