Hi all
Replacing the battery on my c4s
Is there a certain procedure to follow ?
Don't want any problems with alarms radio codes etc
Thanks

I replaced mine the other year. I was told to turn the ignition key to position 1 before you disconnect the battery as this would prevent the alarm going off.

Stand in the boot, disconnect the battery, then swap it to new one and re-connect.

I had no problems with pcm or any settings etc.

Leave the ignition alone on a 997 as it makes no difference.

Thanks for the replies gents
Just did it 10-20 min job tops
Makes such a difference on start up

Gen2 doesn't need the key turning to position1, only the earlier ones.

Neither does the gen1, I have my key out of ignition in my pocket and with a spanner I disconnect the battery terminals when I don't use the car for long periods of time and no alarm goes off!!
