Currently have the baby under Aviva multicar, cheap but a bit worried if anything happens, they will be offering me 20k for a car that will be hardly replaceable under 30k (if not more with today's stupid inflated prices). Where do I need to take my cover to for an agreed value policy? Any recommendation? Thanks

Agreed value classicline or adrian flux simples

Most respected classic car Insurance is for cars that are your second car and not your daily driver. Most classic insurances have low / often restrictive annual mileage limitations. For these reasons, most do not operate NCD, but offer low premiums.

A word of warning... If you decide to insure using a Classic Insurance and then want to go back to a 'normal' Insurance, you will lose all your NCD. They really are designed for hardly used 2nd cars. Most policies will not cover you for commuting, so not designed for Daily Driving.

If you look hard, you may find one that covers a car for normal use, but the loss of NCD could be expensive for you.

My experience with Adrian Flux was C R A P ! ! !

Yes, Definately go with agreed valuation policy otherwise they go on a glasses guide value which will leave you WELL short if the worse happens, like 35%. And get a dashcam :judge:

Locktons. Very comprehensive agreed valuation policy.
Also try the specialist insurers such as Footman James and others advertising in publications such as 'Modern Classics' magazine.

I will try the few names mentioned.
Any of them operate discount if part of Porsche club? I am not a member but if it helps I willl join, been thinking for a while

I got screwed over by my Insurance company with my flood damaged Audi. They wouldn't pay out and stripped my ncb off me. Adrian Flux were my broker and when I called them they were just shirty with me and basically just said tuffshit. They were no help whatsoever.
I ended up writing to the CEO of RBS Insurance (who underwrited my Insurance company - NIG Scandia). He had a full investigation carried out, wrote back to me with a full apology and forced the Insurance company to pay out with a decent offer. Adrian Flux were then quite shocked when I didn't renew with them.

Oh right, who are you with now?

Try A-Plan in Thatcham - they specialise in "specialist" cars. I have a 3k miles/year £25k agreed valuation policy with them for £285 on my 996.1.

A vote hear for classic line :thumb:

I'm with Tesco for both my car and dog Insurance. I nearly lost my dog to inflammatory bowel disease last year. Vets bills are now well over a grand and they haven't flinched one bit paying out.

Until recently I haven't considered using a specialist insurer, but I was somewhat alarmed by AXA and Admiral etc. valuing my GT3 at £9,000 this renewal.

After phoning a few specialists I eventually insured the car with Footman James who were very helpful. The policy has agreed value, with plenty of optional products and services if you require. The price was a 'little' more than the lowest quotes I received from typical comparison sites but I could spend the difference in petrol pretty quickly without a second thought!

I insured my daily with AXA and both polices combined are cheaper than the original multi-car renewal quote I received from Admiral.
