Rothmans Porsche livery for Le Mans 24H 2018

Awesome so far. Looking forward to seeing the finished outcome

So good! :worship:  :bandit:

Nice work :thumb:

So, started on the side stripes. Decided to start on the door (ie, in the middle) because then I could minimise the amount of cutting around handles and mirrors, rather than start at the back and hit them! Seems to have worked OK. Curving down to the front around the headlight was f...un ;-)

Had a one-piece logo that read:

Rothmans
PORSCHE

Tried to be clever and split it so I could have the existing rubber seal line between it - this plan may not work! May have to re-do this section - we'll see.

Off to see Solo now...

What a transformation!

Looks epic... :worship:

Honestly am a bit taken aback that this is possible with a sticker kit.

I was living in Dubai in 1985 when Rothmans were ME rallying with Saeed Al Hajari and Porsche. I had a specialised painting company and used to do all the paint work for Tobacco Exporters, all their cars and vans, Rothmans and Dunhill. One rally they bought a promotional Porsche look a like to diplay at the Hyatt Regency. It was in one hell of a state so it was given to me to "tidy up". I remember having 6 guys working on the exterior and interior to get it looking good and we only had 48 hours to get it done. I also remember driving it from Sharjah where the workshop was to Dubai..... only thing was it had a slipping clutch and needed to be nursed to Dubai. Of course dressed in Rothmans rally colours everybody and his uncle wanted to race me, no chance I just had to smile and wave. Got the car there in the end. Happy days.

Your car looks great and brought back good memories :thumb:

ATB :)

Great story Decgraham!

So, this morning I have a question. On the original, the red/white/gold stripes along the side wrap around the front and the back. I've never really liked that, so am toying with the idea of not doing it. I've mocked up a pick of what the front would (kind of!) look like if I do curve... Should I curve around the front, or not. (IT is going to say PORSCHE under Rothmans)

I'm more or less decided that I'm not doing it at the back, I like the way the back will look without it. Agree, disagree - I need advice!!!

Thoughts?

Go with what you like imho

I'm loving it and you've inspired me to get off the fence and sticker up this year too :worship:

I think the 'full monty' at the front finishes it off nicely.

As for the rear ........ :dont know: ..... I'd need to see both.
