As many of you will know, I like to plaster my car in stickers for my annual trip to LM24, so I can really immerse myself in the fun. This year I'm planning on doing a tribute to the classic Rothmans Racing Porsche livery, as shown on these two beauties...

My first step was to speak with Dan at stickeredup4lemans.com . He explained that for obviuos reasons there is no "off the shelf" kit for this design, but that he could make one. He and I exchanged numerous emails and finally a custom set of stickers as shown here was delivered.

The width of the main stripe was chosen to fit the bonnet louvre.

Next up I needed a base white coat for the top half. Rather optimistically I thought I could do this myself...

...I couldn't. £20 of wrap down the drain. Ho hum.

So I called Adrian at Skinwrap.co.uk and two days later, low and behold, a half white car!

Next up is the fun bit. As well as the custom decals above, Dan also provided me with miles of matching stripes in Red, gold and white.

Currently I'm trying to work out where to put the stripes so it looks good and is easier (ish) to apply (ie missing door handles, washer jets, etc). This bit will be critical and will probably take me most of this weekend!

It's a yes from me. Keep it coming!

...however, being impatient, I couldn't resist getting the main bonnet stripes on. Also, as there are several logos to go over this, I wanted it on first so that bubbles can dry out (I use water to attach and the sticker is porous) before I apply anything on top. The sticker feels silk-like in texture, less plastic more fabric. Great to work with...

Tobes ...... are you using a couple of drops of washing up liquid added to water spray for easier slip and slide as we should have done when we tried to do the Martini stripes on my car ........ I will try and pop over this weekend and see how you are getting on ....... you obviously did not want my help this time round ....... :floor:

Very cool! 8)
