Seals on door handles

While cleaning my 996 this afternoon, one of the rubber seals on the outer door handle came away. These are the rubber rings that provide a seal between the handle itself and the door mount. Checking the other side, one of those has also perished and split.

I recall someone else having a similar problem (Alex perhaps) but can't remember what the solution or fix was.

To fix new seals would require taking the handle mechanism off from what I can see, so I was wondering whether anyone else had come up with a solution?

I was thinking about a piece of neoprene perhaps, cut to fit and then stuck - but others may have other ideas/solutions.

Thanks in advance!
