Hope some can help with this issue.
I have a 996 tiptronic MY2002.
Last week i had an issue trying to start my car, I wiggled the gear lever a little, pulled it into D and then back into P and my car fired up.
Tried to go out again tonight for weekly meet but same issue. Except this time no amount if wiggling, jiggling, moving lever into all pisitions didn't work.
I have checked all fuses and relays - all appear to be good.
When i turn ignition on I get no response when key is in cranked position.
Anyone have any ideas what may be causing the problem ?
Thanks. Simon

Putting it in neutral usually does the trick. :thumb:
The inhibitor switch can be problematic.

:agree:

neutral often starts it .

might be tight cables though which are not going into the right position for the car to see its in neutral or park .

This is normally caused by the gear linkage on the side of the tip box seizeing ..there is a pivot there which you need to strip , grease and refit .. its about 30 mins to do at a garage .
