DFI engine in the gen 2 eliminates concern around bore score and expensive engine rebuilds

Hartech have seen Gen 2 cars with bore score.

I dont think enough to be a worry , there are always going to be cars like these that have been abused and ragged with little or no maintanance , I think its more likely that those are what hartech are seeing at the moment . :thumb:

Most likely, but it's wrong to say buying a Gen 2 eliminates around bore score. Funny how the issue they've seen is identical on all of them, ie. Exact same place.

On another note, a member sold a seal grey C4S on here last month that was near mint with full 6 pack Hartech rebuild for around £19k. That's the sort of thing I'd be looking for.

I understand the love of the 996 4S it always turns my head.

We've all bought a lemon at some time, most of us are old enough for that! Just jump back onto the horse, the alternatives are well boring!

Good luck

A £50k budget will get you into a clean moderate mileage 996 Turbo with cash to spare and keep for a rainy day. If its s Porsche you want and the experience with the C4S is filling your mind with anxiety on another C4S, step outside the M96 cars and get into a Mezger engines car.

PPI absolutely essential for a Turbo.

Gutted about the turbo at 911V. I got back in touch with Tom after deciding to go for it and I had missed it by a few days. Ticked every box and a no worry purchase.😔

You won't need a PPI buying from Tom. Ask if he can notify you when a good 996 Turbo is coming into stock.
Likewise, consider RSJ. JZM had a few turbo cars a month back. Check them also. With all these three specialists you wont need a PPI and they are very thorough in terms of what they will take into stock and prep for sale.

Check their warranties carefully as I don't know this side of their businesses.

+1

Chivs m8 - yes, you've had a bad experience with the former car that you had; as others have said there are some really good dealers out there with great reputations who can help you get in to a C4S without troubles.

Bare with it m8 and don't be put off fruit... :thumb:
