996 C4S purchase

Thanks for your feedback guys.

PDCC4S, your experience with Portiacraft is reassuring.

I went to see the grey car with Portiacraft and it was in decent condition. The front bumper had a few stone chips but seems like a genuine car. It hasn't had any major work like IMS upgrade or any suspension work. It comes with a warranty, so piece of mind for the first year. Is it still best to get a PPI done for bore scoring and IMS?

This one also looks good: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803214775890?

And this an amazing colour, but shame its an auto with grey interior.

That is quite beautiful :worship:

I am sure a chap on Facebook was saying it is his dad's car. I will try and find the post.

That minerva blue car is stunning , the grey interior is no big deal as a retrimmer could break that up a bit and body coloured centre console would really lift the interior .
I have to say thats where my money would be going insteard of a black or grey car :thumb: :thumb:

I haven't seen a minerva coloured car in the flesh before, looks stunning in photos. The interior doesn't bother me so much and as mentioned can be updated. Its more the tiptronic box. Maybe I should try one first.

I've driven manual and tip 6's back to back and I can tell you the difference is night and day.

if I was commuting in traffic I'd consider once but for an occasional drivers car I'd swerve it. Unless of course you're not that bothered about the drive and want to enjoy the looks of the thing.

The Minerva coloured C4S has now appeared on eBay. It looks like it's had a new engine :?:

I was really hoping to avoid black cars though Embarassed, for a change.

Black is a nice colour, especially the shine after a good clean! I just fancy a different colour for a change.

I went to see the grey one at Portiacraft but it was just sold . On the bright side they offered a surprisingly decent value for my C4.

Few more contenders now, any views?

Try get the sticker codes for that one with the GT3 wheels. Im sure there was a special spec C4s produced near end of the production with X51 or some engine upgrades and they came on the Gt3 style wheels.

That would be a great find depending on actual spec.

Are you not getting mixed up with the C2 40 jahre?

The C4S Plus was a fully loaded run out edition in 2005 and did include the X51 engine and the GT3 wheels. Only ever seen a cabriolet version though, like this.

Wow thanks for sharing - I thought I was a bit of a 996 C4S expert having owned one for 12 years (now sadly gone) - thought I'd read everything about them, never heard of that run out edition.

Was it a US, UK or RoW thing I wonder ?
