PPF is it worth it

Hi guys
I am picking up my new 718 GTS next month.
I have been quoted 1900 + vat for full front side seals and rear wheel sides.

I have had others around 1500 + vat as well

Now I am wondering is it worth it or for example what would Porsche charge for repainting a stone chipped front bumber

Any idea of costs for repainting. It's maimi blue.

Cheers
Krish

No replies on this one - but I have a similar question

Anyone have a rough idea of what it would cost to do the front end of a Boxster/Cayman in clear PPF?

Thanks

Above prices look to be about right. Full PPF wrap will be c. £3k + VAT. Is it worth it? I've just had the front repainted on mine for the second time, this time I am getting PPF fitted. Last time was 4 years ago and in that time it resembled a colander.

I saw a demo at the weekend and it looked good - friendly repaint would be about £500 for the front, so I am trying to balance the cost of that v PPF..

Thing is though I got mine painted last time. Within a couple of weeks I had a stone chip, within a year I had several stone chips, after 3 years it was really bad. At what point do you spend your £500 on a friendly paint job... Thats the thing the PPF will keep the car looking fresh.

Agree, Tom - it is just that spending the £1,500 does not appeal my tight ar$e nature!

:)

I am in the repaint the front end every couple of years group rather than add film but each to their own :thumb:

Paint protection film does come with it own problems though, it does mark and you will never get that gloss finish that comes with clean and waxed paint. I had the two cars I tracked covered with paint protection film which was removed when they were sold and the paint work below was factory fresh so it did its job well. For me , I don't think I would use the film again as I quite enjoy detailing my cars and it's just not the same with the ppf.

I know what you mean. A while ago I had a front PU respray, had a ding removed from the rear wing, and celebrated with a full home 'detail' over a weekend. Driving to work on the Monday and BANG a massive stone hit the front PU... and left a big chip/dent above the front lip

That said, it hit with such force that the PU actually cracked... not sure a PPF would have helped anyway.

Save the money for a respray when you have collected many chips. Some justification if you are a heavy track user or a tail gater. Not a fan , just my view 😊
