Hi, just in process of buying a March 11 car and the services performed to date are as below. What type of service is due in Jan and are there any big items around that mileage that need sorting. Current miles are 29k. Thanks.
08/03/2013 at 6136 miles - Minor service with brake fluid change
10/03/2015 at 18811 miles - Major service with brake fluid change
13/01/2017 at 25517 miles - Major service with brake fluid change.
Next service due 13/01/2019 or at 45517 miles which ever comes first.
In Jan 2019, the car will be approaching 8 years old. At 8 years, it would normally be due a 'Major Service', plus brake fluid change (every 2 years), plus spark plugs and check of the drive belt (every 4 years on a car with this sort of mileage).
Also, every 4 years, the tyre sealant would be due replacement, the Porsche schedule calls for a visual inspection of the airbag units, and also a bi-annual Body Condition Report would be due.
The above, of course, assumes that such things as the plugs and drive belt have previously been replaced at the specified intervals. My car is out of synch, insomuch as the plugs weren't changed, for the first time, until the car was nearly 6 years old (so almost 2 years overdue) and the drive belt saw it's first replacement at almost 8 years old, rather than 6 years old......!
The only sure way of knowing is to see invoices for each previous Service, see what, if anything, is out of kilter, and then trying to get the car back onto something like the correct service regime.
So I'm guessing the best option is giving it the benefit of (yet another) Major service in Jan 19, plus all the bi-annual or quad-annual items, assuming the plugs and drive belt have previously been replaced on time.
