Glad it turned out to be the scavenge union, had the same on mine a couple of years ago hence posting the above previously. As for noise, yes they do tend to chunter and grumble a bit as standard, some more so than others. 9e are obviously dealing with these cars on a daily basis so if they say it is normal don't worry!
