PostPosted: Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:19 pm    Post subject: Porsche Silverstone Experience Options Reply with quote

I've recently been thinking about some driver training and it seems like a good opportunity for a day out Porsche Silverstone.

The options being considered are:

1) Drive my car with 90 mins tuition on the test tracks - £175
2) Drive OPC 911 car with 90 mins tuition on the test tracks - £295
3) Porsche Driver School (Warm Up): Half day in my car with one to one tuition - £350

This will be my first foray onto this kind of thing. Thoughts or recommendations?

Go for (1) or (3). £120 is a lot of money to hire a 911 for 90 minutes and it's your car you'll be looking to drive faster/safer thereafter.

Have fun Thumb

Any restriction regarding age/experience for No 1 do you know?

Son has recently passed his test and is 18.

Participants must hold a valid, full driving licence and must be between 18 and 80 years of age. If you have any convictions on your licence please phone + 44 (0) 1327 855 911 before booking as restrictions may apply.

Same question here - did you get anything booked, Nigel?
I was given one when I bought my car and am yet to book it, so I'm also considering using my own car vs their car...

Hi All, sorry for the slow response.

I still haven't booked anything as I'm waiting for the warmer weather and I'm a procrastinator. Last year there was a 1 day session at Millbrook for £400 with good reviews so I'm hopeful that this will be held again in Spring and I'll go with that.

Nigel - I’m away on holiday at the moment, back mid next week. Generic Dates are set but I’ll fix a 911uk specific one & post up once I’ve caught up.

I’ll PM you if that’s helpful.

Excellent thanks. I think the performance day would be best for me. If you could PM when you have some provisional dates that would be great thanks. Enjoy your holiday!
