Is anybody else being told that 997 Gen1 replacement turbos are really hard to come by right now? I have heard this from two reputable sources.

Have you spoken to Turbo Dynamics? I recently replaced my brittle recirculation valves and they are super decent chaps to deal with.

TD should be able to rebuild yours to standard spec far cheaper than replacing with new.
